"Here is ABSOLUTE PROOF that this so-called Clinton "leak" of this Obama Somali dress photo is bogus. Follow the timeline.

Time: Saturday night, February 23, 7:25pm Pacific. Some right-wing poster at freerepublic.com posts a scanned photo --taken from the National Examiner supermarket tabloid of February 4, 2008-- of Obama in the Somali clothing.

Later freerepublic posts specifically state that someone has to "get this to Drudge".

As regards Drudge, who in their right mind would think that someone from the Clinton campaign would say "Hey Drudge, post this photo of Obama and please state that it was leaked by a Clinton Campaign Staffer!". Patently absurd.

This case is closed, and the Obama campaign now has to make it clear that it's the right-wing that's trying to damage him, NOT Senator Clinton's campaign, with this photograph. If they don't, it's tantamount to perpetuating a lie.

Yeah, I know...Now the mantra will be "I bet it was a Clinton staffer who posted it on freerepublic!". Please...don't bother with that crap. Enough is enough".

Did Barack's campaign say that they believed this was true?

If so, yes he should apologize. But otherwise, he'd be apologizing for something Drudge lied about which Barack's campaign did not buy into.

Please post a link if there is evidence that the Obama campaign misused Drudge's lie.

Also last night Barack said he takes Hillary at her word, and immediately moved on to other more important things.

She had no problem screaming "Shame On You Obama!" about fliers. She was asked directly about it and hedged her bets. It doesn't matter if she produced it or not its the fact that her camp hedged on it instead of denouncing it in fact even excusing it that does her damage. We will never know who pushed it to drudge. She could have silenced the concerns that it was her easily and chose not to.

33. There are 3 Possibilities to consider

Noone should automatically assume its from Clinton.I would guess her campaign is the least likely because it obviously would be blamed on her.
1)Drudge is lying about the source
2)Someone from the Clinton camp sent it
3)Obama camp sent it wanting bad PR for Clinton , to make her appear as an evil negative campaigner
