Kerry Campaign Manager, Mary Beth Cahill, Better Be Damn Good

She is our General.

Now can anyone tell me about her? I'm going to begin my research, but I'd be interested in hearing DU input.

1. She did turn Kerry's campaign around during the primaries single handidly.

That's a pretty big achievement.

3. She's been Ted Kennedy's manager in campaigns past.

I think she helped him in the Senate race against Mitt Romney back in '90-something.

Someone posted a long article on her. I think it was from Time or Newsweek. She definitely took over the campaign and limited access to Kerry. She stopped the motorcycle photo ops (a good thing) and limited those who are able to call him. She sounds like she is doing a good job.

5. I believe she helped Patrick Leahy

win a tough race in Vermont, & has done the same for other Dems.

She's well respected.

Of course, running against Bush/Rove crew will be unique.

7. thats right, she helped Leahy who had a simliar situation

in the mid 80's that Kerry did in 1996 against William Weld. Senators who were running against popular republican governors. I think Cahill will handle this good, after all she is a large part of why Kerry turned things around.

Personally, I admire her no nonsense approach and it certainly turned around Kerry's campaign.

I am impressed, eave it to Dem women to smile and bring out the best in all of us!

I have to think of all those stalwart R's that have the look of doom on their faces...it always looks like they just came out of a colonsocopy w/o anesthesia.

It's great to know that all of the intelligent and brighest lights of the female side of the equastion are Dem's!!!!!!
