A variation on a question
we often ask "Do you know anyone who voted for Gore who plans on voting for *?" and of course the answer is always no, but many people know a few who voted for * who will vote for Kerry. However, do you know anyone who voted for Gore who plans on voting for Nader?

I can't see that happening, which is why I think any poll that gives him above 2% is complete bullshit.

1. I think Nader's high polling numbers come from people not knowing Kerry.
Kerry has still not really been introduced to the public, so I think that when a lot of people catch a glimpse of him and hear a sound byte or two from the primaries, they think, "Kerry's some stuffy old centrist." (That was pretty much the conventional wisdom throughout the primaries, condensed into one sentence.) So they say they'll vote for Nader.

As time presses on, I think more and more will get to know Kerry better and decide that he really is the real deal.
