Are all Republicans evil?
Edited on Sat Feb-23-08 07:38 AM by I Vote In Pittsburgh
This primary season is making me wonder if there are any Republicans left who aren't pure slime. Are there? Why do 40% of Americans want to kill tens of thousands of innocent civilians, kill thousands of our soldiers, and put us in astronomical debt? Are they evil, or are they just hopelessly stupid?

who just really, really disagree with me about the threat of Islam, America's role in the world, what morality consists of, the nature of God, and so on.

just because I don't have the same imaginary friend they do.

15. How do they feel about social programs?
Do they feel that the poorest in our society should receive basic assistance, or that they should "pull themselves up by their bootstraps"?

11. Politicians or voters?
Because if you mean voters then I would have to say no, they are not evil. At least not all of them. A lot of them are truly misinformed and misguided but not evil.

16. Of course not, they are more like dogs
Dogs are not evil by nature, but they are pack animals. If the leader of the pack is vicious than the rest will follow along. Take one of them out of the pack and they are a different animal. Believe it or not there are good repubs out there. There are a lot of them that are good but when they get the wrong leader whether in a community or national level, they go with the pack and can do evil things.

18. Democrats, or at least most Democrats
tend to be independent thinkers. If you look at most Republicans in your life you will find that most of them believe in things like corporal punishment, strict discipline, not questioning authority, etc. Just in any aspect of their lives. While your typical Democrat questions authority, doesn't believe that just because someone is "the boss" you never question. So yes, the herd mentality is a very valid description of most Republicans. Do as your told and don't ask questions.

22. No, Republicans are, for the most part, simply people, like you and I
They're not ogres or babykillers, they're your friends, family, coworkers. Yes, they have different political believes than us, but does that make them evil? No it doesn't

24. No. That's ridiculous. They're human beings, not monsters.
Some republican leaders are vile, definitely. Bush, Cheney, and their ilk are definitely evil.
I'd say the 29% are either seriously delusional or morally bankrupt...
but the rank-and-file republicans aren't evil, they just see things differently.

25. Republicans walk lock step with policies, many of which can only be described as evil
Edited on Sat Feb-23-08 10:10 AM by depakid
And that's just seeing things "different," eh?

Not in my book. People ought to be accountable for those those actions. In other words- evil is as evil does.

And that's precisely what they've done to your country for over 25 years.

28. Evil is a very strong word.
To characterize an entire group of people that way, in fact, nearly half of the population of our country, is just sick and wrong.
Yes, a lot of republicans support evil policies, largely out of ignorance and fear. A lot of these people would support better, but they are manipulated and lied to by their leaders.
There are also Republicans out there with their hearts in the right place.
My mother, for instance, is a lifelong republican who feels the party has abandoned her. Are you calling my mother evil?
So to characterize every person in this country who is a member of the republican party as evil is pure stupidity. It doesn't help anyone, and it doesn't move our country forward.

Honestly I consider people that don't support gay rights, support wars, are against stem cell research, against abortion, against universal health care to be evil.

Their actions cause people to fucking DIE.

30. No.
I know two Republicans personally who have been so disgusted with their
own party of late that they both voted Kerry in 2004, and will be voting
Democratic this year, no matter who our nominee is (I wish I could say
as much for some Democrats I know!).
