Hear me out, and no "Thanks for that horrible image" jokes, please. That's not where I'm going with it. I know the crueler elements here will take it as some opportunity for a cheap shot at Clinton, just because she's an older person. Save it.

So here's my idea: The candidates should appear nude, Democrats and Republicans both. It's mainly a symbolic thing - "Here we are, look at us, we've got nothing to hide." (Though I'm sure McCain would be hiding something, and no I don't want to know where!) This gesture would say "We're giving ourselves body and soul to this country in an effort to make it better." How could there be a more genuine and open action on their parts? By doing this, we would see them as nature made them, and perhaps, just perhaps, we would learn a little something.

I think the candidates should appear as elephant trainers, trying to teach Indian elephants to lift logs with their trunks and clear roads in remote Punjabi villages. Voters should be able to infer from that sort of task-specific tryout what kind of presidents they'd be. After all, a president with real leadership qualities won't be able to fool the instincts of socially sophisticated beasts like elephants (particularly the more gregarious Indian elephants, although the Africans do have prettier ears).

Have each candidate sign a legally binding contract with the American People detailing what they will do as President if they are elected. Each contract should contain no less than ten items that they will implement as President within the 4 year term. Here are some examples.

1. Establish a non partisan investigation of the 9/11 attack.
2. Establish a not for profit national health care plan.
3. Resend / delete / remove all signing statements, proclamations, decrees, etc. made by George Bush - especially the domestic spying BuShit.
4. Investigate and prosecute perpetrators and facilitators of torture.
5. Constitutional amendment adding habeas corpus as an inalienable right.
6. Disbanding and criminalize private armies.
7. Establish a national zero carbon footprint.
8. Strip corporations of any legal personhood rights or privileges.
9. Seek impeachment and conviction of Bush / Cheney and their enablers for acts of treason.
10. Nationalize the energy industries.

Failure to implement these points as outlined would be a breach of contract punishable by multi million dollar fines and long (10 years or more) imprisonment. That seems to me much more titillating to me than seeing either of them in the buff.
