Seems that many think neither did well though, so maybe it's just the contrast with Bush that is making them look so good.

4. Indeed
As much as it sucks being an Obama supporter and just wishing Hillary would get the hell out of the way..... it must REALLY suck being a republican and watching two great Dems debate like civilized, intelligent beings.

(Wish I could post this as OP) No one EVER won an election because of a debate.
Because that assumes that every single voter was watching said debate, and most weren't, let's face it.

We political junkies were excited and pumped, but 90% of the electorate, even in Texas, were most likely going--"Wha? There was a debate last night? How'd my candidate do?

"Huh. Well, I'm voting for 'em anyway."

12. and 99% of DU can't admit that THEIR candidate didn't win said debate
so the debates are nothing more than fodder for the pundits and raw meat for political junkies to fight over.
I venture to say that not ONE of Hillary's supporters crossed the lines for Obama tonight or vice versa.

13. On that we agree......
...and, to her credit, I think Hillary sees that too.

That's why she ended with such a conciliatory note. Showed me that she actually WILL work to help him in the fall campaign.

That was nice to see. She's a smart politician. She sees the internals. She knows this is probably over unless Barack has a HUGE HUGE gaffe in the coming weeks.

She even seemed to say she wouldn't fight on the delegate issue.

9. I love you Effie.
The name Effie is make my heart so warm.

I loved the movie "Dreamgirls" and 'Effie' was the Florence Ballard of that film. The Supremes are my loves. And Florence Ballard was the best.

As Florence said "Honey, we is terrific". And honey, you is terrific!!

23. You speak the truth.
It's about time to put an end to all of the party infighting. The republicans are uniting behind their candidate. Let's not let the media keep us divided. If we do, the republicans will prevail in November.

32. I was just going to say the same thing as NastyRiffraff posted, so
I'll just say I agree. This thread was so refreshing to read. I'm so weary of all the nastiness.

And I agree with EffieBlack, too. I watched the debate, too, and also thought they both did really well last night. I was glad to see them drop (most of) the adversarial bickering (until John King provoked them, but they handled that well, too), and put the major focus on defeating the Republicans. As it should be.

34. ditto that
I was impressed with both of them. It is too bad we can't have both at the helm. It's a tough choice in many ways, but I think Obama has the momentum.

One thing that always sticks in my craw is the way Hillary was anointed and thrust upon us as the "front runner" and heir apparent --two years ahead of time.
