Clark in Iowa: "Hey this doesn't look like Iowa!"
CNN just reported that Wes Clark, while campaigning in Vermont said, "Hey...this doesn't look like Iowa! Mary...Mary!"

CNN is following up on this breaking development, and will have more later on Crossfire...

2. Which CNN segment
was that by the way -- or did you confuse CNN with Saturday Night Live.

I hope you don't make a living trying to write this sort of thing.

Wes Clark. He will make an extraordinary American President.

He's imploding. It's very sad.

I'm really upset about this dire turn of events.

Of course!
If it was on CNN it's true.

Everything posted at DU about Dean is true. That's a fact.

16. The difference here is that the story you linked to is true...
Take your pick of the sources for it:

http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&scoring=d&edition=us&q=Nobody+else+comes+from+a+farm+state

The story you posted in this thread is a fabrication.

Didn't happen.

We have a word for that where I come from.

11. Ah ...
The old defense of the under 10 crowd -- "but, but, he/she DID it!"

It's time for the supporters of ALL the candidates who let misguided zeal or pre-pubescent motivations to grow up and consider what they can really do productively to oust Bushco from the WH. This sort of display isn't productive.

That goes for CLARK supporters also and I'm not bashful about telling them so.

You are clearly more motivated about being negative than I can keep up with about being positive. Start your little flame wars. I can see they keep you nicely entertained.

You take this little place FAR too seriously.

(But this is a bad quote from Clark. He needs to explain it quick.)

15. it's simple...
somebody posted a thread about a possible Dean "gaffe" that he made in Iowa. The Original Poster of this thread, thought that fabricating a Clark smear was the appropriate response.

Sad, really. But not unexpected.

25. testy?
I very carefully phrased my post. If you think "possible gaffe" was written in a fit of pique, then English probably isn't your primary language.

But the real issue is why some people think it's OK to post absolute fabricated lies in retaliation for truthful posts made by others. Why not refute the other, TRUE allegation if you can instead of making up lies about another candidate.

The funniest part is that Clark isn't even running in Iowa - he hasn't complained about Dean's "gaffe". Gephardt has. But your response is to attack Clark. Very telling.

28. I don't understand your point...
but I do know that I don't really need to calm down. I'm already pretty calm. Must be from the self-satisfaction I get knowing I've never posted a lie about another candidate. In fact, I've never even posted ANY negative attack about another candidate. It's a good feeling.

Sorry you'll never know it.

just because a story appears in the Media doesn't make it true.

21. well I will
propose that a story reported on CNN has a HIGHER LIKELIHOOD of being true than something that springs entirely out of a Clark opponents fevered imagination.

Take your pick of the sources:

http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&scoring=d&edition=us&q=Nobody+else+comes+from+a+farm+state

However, the Clark story that started this thread is a complete fabrication.

but it's a paraphrase and generally a paraphrase isn't as good or accurate as a direct quote.

24. Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you. So if it's okay to
makeup remarks about candidate X then I guess it's k to do so against candidate Y. Do you think Dean would like this remark?

29. i think he'd be fine with it
but issue a bumbling retraction tomorrow, and then have to defend himself against it in the debate next week - which of course would lead to Trippi issuing a new Bat Against Democratic Attacks fundraising drive, while simultaneously repeating the original misstatement of fact in a seperate interview.

That seems to be the pattern.
