CHECK IT OUT!! The number of Dem votes versus Republican is crazy!!
If you are a Democrat, this is very important no matter who you you're supporting!!

http://politics.nytimes.com/election-guide/2008/results/states/WI.html

At this point here are the Democratic votes that have been counted:

Barack Obama 197,284 55.8%
Hillary Rodham Clinton 152,057 43.0

Compared to Republican votes:

John McCain 79,675 54.8%
Mike Huckabee 54,234 37.3

Together McCain and Huckabee have less than Hillary!!!

THAT'S AMAZING!!

6. Honest Question: How Many Republicans Were Voting in the Dem Primary
and should we feel that confident since we know how pukes like to screw with Dem primaries?

21. There has been some talk lately about the Republicans voting in
the Democratic primaries to influence the outcome so that McCain faces the Democrat that they think is least likely to win. I don't know how accurate this is, but when you see the disproportionately large numbers voting in the Democratic primary, it does make you wonder.

25. About 9%, 70-30% of that # voted for Obama.
So even if you take all the Republican voters that crossed over away, it's still a big night for Democrats in Wisconsin.

Incidentally, I don't care for calling them 'Repukes' or 'Rethuglicans' - unless you like them calling folks on the left 'Dimocrats' or 'Democreeps'. Do as you would be done by, and all that.

7. WI has an open primary, many Republicans felt their race was over
and crossed over to make themselves feel potent, once again.

But, they're not.

So, here's wishing good luck to Obama and his people.

11. That's not amazing, people.
It's the pugs choosing our democratic candidate. They're making sure that Hillary is not elected. In November they will vote McCain, and we will be screwed. But, ya'll know this, right? It's ok if you don't get it. We deserve this for being smug about beating them when we know how diabolical they are.

16. have you been keeping up with the number of people who say
they will NEVER! EVER! UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES! vote for Hillary Rodham Clinton? Surely you've seen the head to head matchups against McCain. Poll after poll showing that Hillary goes down to defeat against McCain, while Obama beats him soundly?

Neither you, nor I have a crystal ball, therefore we can't predict what will happen in November. Obama may not defeat McCain, but of this I am very sure, Hillary won't either.

The ladies at work tripped out that I was totalling the number of
votes for either party on Super Tuesday a few weeks back .

I told them I watching the Turnout based on votes and party .

18. It's the pre-season, the Republican roster has been set
The Democrats still have a race to decide. The Democrats and Republicans are not running against each other and at this point I wouldn't read anything into turnout or lack of it. Come the general these numbers won't mean a thing.

I can't seem to find the aggregate vote count up to this point.

Can someone show me what the total count is for each candidate up to now?

22. Just a few things to remember
First, the Republican race was really no longer competitive so a lot of GOP voters probably stayed home.

Second, and partially because the GOP race was no longer competitive, there was a crossover vote in the open primary. At least a portion of those votes were probably cast solely to influence the outcome of the Dem primary but those folks will vote GOP in the general election.

Third, even those GOP voters who stayed away because they find McCain either boring as hell ot too much of a liberal for their tastes, will come home to roost in November.

Fourth, Wisconsin trends blue anyway so a larger turnout for the Dems isn't all that surprising.

In other words, don't take anything for granted. It's a long way to November.

23. Here are the 2000 primary results for Wisconsin in comparison:
(If you can't tell, I'm not buying the 'Republicans are voting for Democrats to change the election results' idea - this isn't the first election this primary season with similar results, including red states).

Republican results in 2000 primaries in Wisconsin http://www.thegreenpapers.com/PCC/WI-R.html

27. Updating with the final totals - WOW!!
Democrats who voted in Wisconsin yesterday (or should I say, people who voted for a Democrat yesterday) -

Barack Obama 645,554 58.1%
Hillary Rodham Clinton 452,590 40.7

That's more than 1,098,144!!!!!

Republicans who voted in Wisconsin yesterday

John McCain 224,122 54.8%
Mike Huckabee 151,114 36.9
Ron Paul 19,129 4.7

That's around 394,365 all together and still less than what Hillary got!! WOOOOO HOOOO!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: Those numbers are OUTSTANDING!!!

28. The Republicans already have their nominee.
One would expect primary turnout to drop off at that point. On the other hand, their turnout has been pretty meek compared to ours even when they didn't have a nominee.
