When AAR was having major financial problems, Phoenix decided to start their own company.
Ed Schultz wanted to buy them out. Phoenix told him no - they wanted a more progressive voice.
It was pretty ugly.

We don't get Ed in Phx.

5. I listen to both
but prefer Ed. Randi whines too much and Ed seems to actually talk about things of substance. Ed talks and interviews people who many might find "boring" such as the air traffic controllers or various Unions and their members, etc. Randi has her opinions (which I agree with some of the time) but rarely does more than just talk for the sake of talking.

6. He's all we have in this neck of the woods
and he's death on the, Clintons. I don't even know if I can call him fair and balanced, he seems so down on, Miss Hillary. Half his call are complaints that he's taken sides. One thing in his favor is that he does take those calls and gives the callers their say so.

10. None of them are "fair and balanced"
why did you make me use that line? It's pretty clear who Randi favors. Stephanie Miller has come out for Obama. None have claimed they're neutral. Ed deals with so much cr@p from Clinton supporters on a daily basis because he has Obama, Obama's campaign staff, etc, on and used to have Edwards on all the time as well, along with his staff, etc. He has had Terry Mcauliffe on numerous times and has tried to get as many Clinton supporters (and Hillary herself on) but they usually say no.

17. I listen to them both...
Randi talks over callers but and doesn't let them get out the reason for their call a lot of the time, but she gives a lot of good info, Randi said on a few shows that she didn't favor anyone in particular and wasn't going to say but I could tell once Obama won a few primaries. Shultz tries to pretend that he is fair and gets angry when he is called out on his lies but, the person who irritates me the most is Stephanie Miller. She tries to make a joke about everything and the sound effects get on my nerves so I can hardly ever listen to her. When debating issues on the talking head shows I get irritated that they ask her to be on because she takes away from the debate trying to be funny, last night on larry king Ron reagan jr, and another left wing pundit were letting some rightwingers have it and she kept interrupting with that not funny garbage...

11. "Half his call are complaints that he's taken sides."
More than half the calls on all progressive talk shows these days are from Hillary supporters complaining of the bias of the host.

You can recognize their voices as they call from show to show.

All of them suggest that they were leaning Obama, or really liked him, but . . .
the bias on whichever show has made them want to vote for Hillary because they are so unfair to her.

Sam Seder got one the other day that suggested she'd have to vote for McCain because Air America was so biased for Obama.

Whatever!

24. i heard that Sam Seder caller...
and he finally had her call cut. She tried to get in some smear website about Obama & Rezko? And Sam told the producer to cut her off.

Thom Hartmann said it first, but then Sam caught on, and now Randi's saying that it almost seems like it's been coordinated at the campaign level. It's the same ladies calling from show to show, threatening to never listen to AAR ever again. It's almost hysterical at this point.

26. Yesterday, it sounded like Stephanie Miller was finally
getting a clue, too.

The HRC callers have gotten to her, I think, as she apologizes now every time she mentions either Obama's name or Hillary's.

I'm not a big fan of Randi, either, but I at least have some respect for her.

I won't lose any sleep if the two of them bloody one another a little.

18. I'd rather listen to Randi anyday over Ed
Specially when he wants to talk about hunting and fishing.

Ed's just sore he didn't get picked to be on AAR. He's on XM on the AAR lineup but he's not an AAR host. He's on Sirius which "siriusly" sucks.

I am hoping some day. after the primaries, I'll be able to listen to Randi again. Schulz is about as progressive as Dildo Reilly.

31. I Listen To Ed Less & Less...
...on XM - He's a RW talker from the 90's who saw dollar signs in the unrepresented progressive side of talk radio - made the switch, but like a leopard, he can't truely change his spots... Randy is good when she's focused, but lately, that's been a real problem - Rachel Maddow should have a better time slot and more than 2 hours - Rachel rocks (even when I disagree with her)!

33. Pick your poison...
Ed can be a bit of a huckleberry at times, but still tries to be likeable....

Randi's heart is in the right place I'm sure, but she's a monologuer, loves to disrespect callers - even the ones she agrees with. She's got the worst etiquette of the lib talkers.

Ed is the lesser of the two evils in my book...
