she actually said the president was never elected.

Her brother is repub and has a chance to get a job with the Prez re(s)election organization. HiJinx ensue.

3. I welcome her politics...
but that show is an unwatchable train wreck without a trace of detectable comedy.

5. !!! Welcome to the DU !!!

I think it's hilarious myself,

but I'm sure some folks won't think it is funny. Repubs probably won't for sure.

8. I'd like to see her a little more focused.
It seems like they're taking unorganized comical jabs and, after a while, it feels like a formula. I'd like to see Whoopi "get it together." What, exactly, does her character believe in?

A good example of the superficial level of comedy is the Libertarian she smokes with on the sidewalk. The Libertarian says her party is the party party -- (because they believe in legalized drugs.) But it's so superficial. There is so much more material that you wonder what audience Whoopi is trying to attract. You can't hook in thinking people into a show like that without digging deeper.

4. Saw it - lol

It was very funny and slammed bushco more than once (as usual). On the story line, her bro. did land that job with the bushco. reselection campaign, so I expect things to get even more slammin' on future episodes.

There was one line she had tonight, it wasn't the "wasn't eleceted in the first place" line, but another line that slammed bush that made my jaw drop for a minute, but I cannot remember it, just my reaction. There was also some line about Kerry giving the country away to terrorists, that was played as a rediculous repuke attack (imho). Damn, I need to see this episode again.

Last I read, the show was doing at least satisfactorily in the ratings, so I expect it to be around next season. Hopefully they'll put new episodes out over the summer to help keep up the drumbeat.

6. I hope you're right...

I could see this show coming back on in Sept with topical bushco topics ripe for election hilarity

(I hope)

and with Dean in the background divirting attention away from Kerry towards Bush...

7. Our Local NBC affiliate didn't carry it, had a Frazier rerun instead

Rochester, NY's Channel 10 WHEC didn't air the Whoopi episode tonight. I watched it out of Syracuse. I was furious and called and left a message at the station, which will of course be ignored. Must be it didn't follow the Bush doctrine. If you want to bitch at them the website is www.10nbc.com
