Why is our echo chamber so clumsy?
The Conservatives have an efficient echo chamber. A lie starts out on the internet, gets spread by Hannity et al. then is used by the RNC, and finally, the media keep parroting it until people believe it's true.

....As for Democrats....we move along clumsily, passively checking facts, but not 0picking them up and shoving them in Repug faces. It takes us forever just to come up with rapid responses, and even longer to come up with offensive charges against *. And no it's not just the corporate media that inhibits us, it's our decrepit infrastructure.

1. Time and Money
The Dems haven't spent 30 years and 2 billion dollars putting an infrastructure in place.

2. If the American public has become
so lethargic, apathetic, and recessive, then this is what they receive, a corrupt government.

3. The DNC is virtually absent from the debate
The party needs to kick in and do their homework, but the DNC needs to cordinate the message w/Kerry so he isn't out there on his own defending the interests of the party.

4. We're too decentralized
Rove, DeLay, etc. give out their talking points to Rush, Hannity, and Drudge, and it instantly gets spread through talk radio and Fox News, and repeated ad nauseum until other networks and media outlets can't ignore it.

We on the other hand are INCREDIBLY decentralized. We don't have a single national media outlet where we can set the agenda. Our tidbits start out on some obscure left-wing websites, get picked up by a blog or two, MAYBE a prominent liberal columnist, and if were lucky the DNC or national Democratic figure. Then PERHAPS the media reports on it.
