For the purpose of unity, I would like to see Hillary and Obama make a deal
That would say, that whichever wins the nomination they will choose the other as their VP candidate. So there will be no losers in the race. Of course, they have the option of declining the Vice-Presidency, but they have that choice if they finish second. In the spirit of cooperation, would either of them accept this offer?

1. I can't see Hillary accepting VP - don't know why, just my impression.
And with the growing support Obama is getting, not sure he would go for it either.

2. Why would anyone want to attach to the Clinton baggage?

3. Unity would be great, but that's not the way to get it.
The way to get it to have the loser fully support the winner, campaign for them and urge all their supporters to do the same.

19. And vice versa, I'd venture to say.

I never liked it when Biden was proposed as a VP to one of the other candidates. As flattering as it may be, we all believe OUR candidate is the BEST one suited for the number one slot.

7. The winner needs the freedom to choose his/her
own v.p. Someone they feel they can work with, shares their vision and will help win the presidency.

8. Obama might; I doubt that Hillary would. But I have a better idea.
How about Obama and Evan Bayh? You like?

14. Obama/General Zinni
or Wes Clark.

He needs someone who can stand up to McCain militarily and get us the fuck out of Iraq.

10. for the sake of unity, i would like to see
RFK resurrected. Failing that, maybe a brokered convention and drafting of Gore, or Biden.

I don't care if these two join at the hip; I won't like them. I'll support whatever permutation gets the nomination, because one more day of republican cabal rule is 2923 too many.

12. Well, it *would* unite Obama *and* Hillary supporters...
...many more of whom would sit out the GE in protest.

Series.

18. Why all the concern about "unity" at this point, anyway?
For right now, I think it is good for the country to see Democrats debating and hashing out the issues. I don't see the Republicans doing that.
