Kansas Ds land another big name for annual party gala

You wonder if some day soon, Democrats in Kansas will look back to the Sebelius years and think, "Those were the days."

These are the days. Adding to a list that includes President Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards and Gen. Wesley Clark, Democrats today announced yet another hot-shot speaker for their annual Washington Days celebration.

This year, it's Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, the one-time Overland Park resident who's a bona fide rising Demo star. He'll speak on Feb. 29 at the dreary old Downtown Ramada Inn in Topeka. (Hot party on the rise meets in hotel that's seen better days....I don't get it. Been that way for years).

Tickets will be available after 10 a.m. Monday through the Kansas Democratic Party’s Web site, www.ksdp.org. Tickets are $125 each.
