89. The real story here is who made of the 17,000 provisional voters.
When you look inside those numbers, as told by the N. Mexico party chair, there weren't many Dems. And this is what is so damn scary. Hillary won, but she won from Dems. A lot of the provisionals were voting for Obama, that's what made it close. One of two things: these are actually people who want to vote Dem, or these are people who really don't want to see Hillary as the nominee and who will in the GE not really vote for Obama.

Versus New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and New Hampshire for Clinton. Which is nearly half her states.

57. They'll probably report that guy reporting the results more
than they will the actual results. Why did he draw that out so. The long count was bad enough. I loved him thanking all of the repuglicans and independents who voted. I keep telling ya'll that's the pugs screwing with our elections. In some states it works better than others, and in some states their caucuses are closed, which, as I understand it, can only be attended by dems, but I don't know the other rules. Perhaps someone could enlighten us. Closed primaries and closed caucuses should be demanded by all of us. Why do you think all of the repuglicans are closed? They know that if they didn't we could mess with theirs the way they mess with ours.

Cynthia McKinney's defeat in Georgia because of repuglican cross-over votes taught us nothing. Honestly, sometimes I have no sympathy for the democratic party at all. We bring so much of this crap on ourselves.

Obviously, I believe that Hillary wouldn't be having any problems at all right now if it weren't for cross-over voters in caucuses and primaries.

Hooray for closed primaries and caucuses.

it would be a lot better. The polls were open for 7 hours, you didn't have to be there at any particular time. You cast a private ballot, and absentee and early voting were permitted. It was much more like a regular primary than a typical caucus.

That may fly with the Republicans, but the Democratic Party doesn't do things that way.

And Obama leads in overall popular vote totals.

I haven't done the math on supers with proportional, but his tally would be higher. I was trying to give HRC supporters every advantage to show Barack is still ahead, however you slice it (in other words, the HRC fan mantra of "but Kerry and Kennedy would have to switch" implies that EVERYONE in a state would switch). So, I was just out for an afternoon debunking. Just fooling around while I'm on a conference call.

86. That's the problem. Did you hear the guy that announced
thank all of the republicans, independents, greenies and the Bull Moose party that voted in their caucus. The pubs crossed over, exactly in all states and caucuses that permitted it. They keep screwing with our elections and we keep permitting it. Why do you think they should pick our nominee? They can vote for whomever they want in the GE, so, why do we keep letting them f**k with our elections. They have no right to pick our nominee.

Its shenanigans like this that caused the party to create super delegates. No damn griping about who they choose either. The rules should change. I don't care if they do away with super delegates if they close all of our primaries and caucuses.

I know they do this. I have a republican sister in Georgia and she certainly knows how the pubs work our elections.

I am sick of it.

90. And do you know how the caucus worked?
You didn't have to be there at a particular time. You cast a private ballot. You could vote abseentee or vote early.

It was much more like a primary than the typical caucus. But people love making that crack without knowing anything about it.

81. My thoughts are . . ... ... .. YaaaaAAAAAHHHHOOOOOOOO!
Now we get to hear how the votes were *stolen* and how NM voters were just too darn busy to figure out who to vote for all by themselves. Throw in some derogatory remarks about Hispanics and retirees and we'll be good to go!

94. BALLOT BOXES SPENT NIGHT WITH DEM PARTY CHAIR
From New Mexico political reporter Heath Haussaman:

Uncounted Rio Arriba County ballots raise eyebrows

The New Mexico Democratic Party caucus may be tainted by three ballot boxes that spent the night in the home of the Rio Arriba County party chair or the homes of other local election officials instead of being reported to the state party.

Those ballots still haven’t been counted, but they have been retrieved by the state party.

Several sources told me the ballot boxes spent the night at the home of Rio Arriba County Democratic Party Chair Theresa Martinez, whose state-lawmaker husband, Sen. Richard Martinez, endorsed Hillary Clinton. But Richard Martinez told Santa Fe New Mexican reporter Kate Nash that the boxes actually spent the night in the homes of three polling-place managers. He gave Nash no explanation for why the results from those ballots weren’t reported to the state party last night and why they were instead kept overnight in officials’ homes.

...The Obama and Clinton campaigns should have lawyers there trying to figure out what’s happening and ready to act if necessary. My understanding is that Obama attorneys are already on their way. The state party needs to quickly resolve this and tell the public how it’s going to allay fears that the election process is tainted beyond repair.

She won with a margin of just 1,709 votes in the New Mexico contest..

How many ballots WERE in those boxes?

93. Cue Bill with his foot in his mouth, again
On WMAL-AM yesterday in an interview with Chris Plante, former President Bill Clinton implied the media has been unfair to his wife, stated that she was standing up to sexism when she took on NBC, and -- when asked about MSNBC's David Shuster's comments about his daughter, Chelsea -- said there was a double standard.

"If he had made a racial slur against Senator Obama, he would have been fired," Clinton said.

Of his wife's recent travails, he said, "the caucuses aren't good for her. They disproportionately favor upper-income voters who, who, don't really need a president but feel like they need a change."
