I just saw my first presidential campaign commercial
I'm in the Houston area, so I expect to see a lot more soon. It was for Hillary Clinton. It was nicely done. Positive. Subtle background music. Verbiage was about health care reform.

I hope to see lots of positive commercials from both candidates, but hot races usually go negative.

Let the Texas games begin! :patriot: :woohoo:

3. What was the one you saw about?
I'd be curious to see if they are running certain ones in certain areas.

10. It opens with Hillary in a brown suit.
Talking about the Bush economy. This one was pretty positive. Addresses healthcare for all Americans and student loans. Peace, Kim

2. I can't believe we are actually going to have any Presidential campaign commercials -
and we still may not because Indiana primaries aren't until May, but it would be really great to get some attention - any attention, we'll take crumbs! No one ever comes here except for a brief pit-stop in Indianapolis to get money and then fly to another state to spend it and talk to real voters.

:grr:

4. I don't remember ever seeing a Presidential campaign commercial at home!
Edited on Wed Feb-13-08 10:23 PM by Lisa0825
Before Texas I lived in Hawaii, and we didn't get much attention there either. Before that I was too young to notice. However, my earliest politica memory is my dad griping, "I'm sick and tired of hearing about g**damned Watergate!" and angrily turing off the TV! LOL! I think I was about 5.

I am psyched that my primary vote will count this time!

5. MAY !!!!! Gads.. I hate to claim stupid, but I really wasn't aware
that states voted that late. I guess its just always been sorta over by Super Tuesday. Damn, we have GOT to reform this PRIMARY SYSTEM by next cycle. And get public financing. Don't worry, Indy Op, I think you'll get plenty of attention this year ! :hi:

6. I think that the order of primaries should be randomly selected!
That way every 4 years, different states will be on the front end.

I cna't claim credit for this idea... though I don't recall who it was I heard it from! LOL

14. Indiana does everything late and/or backwards and/or dumb...
I am not a native Hoosier, but I've been here a decade and I am starting to understand the illogical nature of the system.

For example: When I took my driver's license test, I read the little booklet and couldn't believe how lax the laws were. It is legal, for example, to have an open container of alcohol in your car so long as the container is in the back seat -- so if you are pulled over while drinking and driving you just... reach around behind you and put the open container in the back seat.

7. OK, I just saw my SECOND presidential campaign commercial...
This one was for Obama, and the same description from the OP can apply... nice, positive, healthcare, etc.

I was glad to see it tonight!

8. This is great for Democrats, and one advantage to a protracted primary season.
People are being introduced to our candidates in a place where maybe that wouldn't be the case in a General Election.

13. Some of the women from Texas have done that State so proud
and I love both the pictures you display.

Yep, and would they not have both loved to have observed these political games, and would we not have loved hearing their words of wisdom and humor about it?

Sam
