Clinton Booed At Her Own Rally (Ouch)
Clinton has made a habit of ignoring contests she loses. On Monday, she cited Louisiana's large African American population in explaining her defeat there. At other times, her campaign has suggested the results of caucuses in general should be discounted.

But on Tuesday, she did not even do that much.

"You know, there's a great saying in Texas -- you've all heard it. 'All hat and no cattle,' " Clinton told a large audience here. "Well, after seven years of George Bush, we need a lot less hat and a lot more cattle."

She continued, in an apparent swipe at both President Bush and Sen. Barack Obama, the candidate gaining momentum in the Democratic race: "Texas needs a president who actually understands what it's going to take to turn the economy around, to get us universal health care."

When Clinton mentioned having differences with Obama over health care and the mortgage crisis, she was booed. Her comments continued past 9:30 p.m. Eastern time, as the polls in Maryland closed and the race was called for Obama, but in the giant arena, with a crowd her campaign estimated at 12,000, it seemed as though the defeat had not happened.

1. I will never boo Clinton.
I don't care who you are or who you support, booing that woman is beyond the pale. She's taken too many hits on too many levels by right wing zealots and reactionaries. Someday soon she'll be out campaiging for our nominee, Barack Obama, and I will personally shut up anyone who dares boo that woman.

3. nice threat.

sometimes she deserves to be booed. i dont know if that was one of them, having not been there, but there are surely times.

Above criticism she is not.

45. God no.
I really don't want the Clintons campaigning for Obama once he wraps up the nomination. I want them to stay as far away from him and the White House as possible.

46. I agree
I was at an Obama rally in DC last night and was really tempted to boo Clinton, but I resisted the urge, because it's still very possible that I'll end up having to support her in the fall. So I am trying hard not to get too negative on her. Some days I feel like they're both great candidates, but other days I am more militant about my support for Obama. Still, I am trying hard not to get myself in a position where I have as much resentment toward Clinton as I had toward Kerry around this time 4 years ago.

They got in, signs in hand. They may have been the ones booing. I would expect this trend to continue; Obama supporters 'infiltrating' Hillary events. She speaks here in San Antonio this evening at St. Mary's University.

It was on politico last night. The guy had an Obama shirt on and then a Hillary supporter rushed over with a big sign to cover it up.

4. I heard the comment live during her speech last night, and I think they were booing
the "George Bush" statement, not Obama. I could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure that they were BOOING George W. when she mentioned his name, and not her when she mentioned Obama. That would be very, very odd.

The idea that people in this case (possibly Obama supporters) would boo a fellow Democrat IS beyond the pale. It's almost like "if you are not with me, you're against me." If they are in fact, Obama supporters, I think that this says a lot about them. And not to overlook the OP, who is an Obama supporter, he/she/it almost posts this with pride...Like saying, see, Clinton is not liked...

Shameful. I personally don't like either of the remaining candidates, but this is typical of the crap that goes on here.

So let me get this straight. Say a Republican was at a Bush rally and booed at something he said. Would that be a bad thing? Showing a total lack of loyalty.

23. IMO, Hillary needed and still needs a reality check.
From Day One, it seemed like she and many thought she was the "inevitable" nominee and she has acted in this role. The booing should awaken her to the fact that there are many who do not like her and they are NOT just Repubbies and Independents.

JMHO

Hillary thought that the Left and the Base would have nowhere to go but with her, and that was a catastrophic miscalculation on her part.

She has lost this campaign.

42. That's silly.
The state is 30 something percent black, many are ardent Clinton supporters. I'm certain the black vote was split more so than the white vote.
I live in a parish thats about 10% black. Obama lost by only 200 votes ...46% - 47%. This is the same parish that DDuke calls home. Amazing! I really thought he would lose by a landslide in this parish.
