Hawaii
Wisconsin awards more delegates, but Hawaii is also holding its primary next Tuesday.

Obama has some history with the state and his (step?) sister still lives there. Was wondering if anybody has seen any polls from Hawaii and if so, let's see them. I usually check out pollster.com for the info but I don't see any Hawaii polls there.

2. Obama grew up in Hawaii
He's a native son.

Frankly, after tonight I think Hillary looks like she could stand to go do some "visibility" on the beach with a paperback and an umbrella drink in her hand. :P

7. Aloha,
I haven't seen any polls, but I can tell you that on the ground, there is major support for Barack among the people, but the party aparatus is solidly for Hill. I feel really good about Tuesday. We are organized, we are having a great time, and we are going to have a terrific caucus.

In case it's any indicator, Barack has brought in 73% of ALL money donated for both parties as of recently. Republicans, Ron Paul people, da works. So although we still are working our little okoles off, no sked, we get 'em.

14. I did work my Mainland okole off 4 years ago for Dean.
So I can take comfort in that, and my suffering for turning out that November Saturday for my Hawaiian history course. The antibiotics do work.

Keep up the hard work

16. I was a Deanie too,
and I see the fruits of his work in the Obama campaign every day. If I knew then what I know now, it wouldn't have hurt so much.
A reminder to myself to be kind to the Hill supporters.

Ditto. I still get a kick out of the fact that a number of my fellow Obama cultists were ardent Kerry and Clark supporters. We have overcome 2004, and hopefully 2008 will turnout better and won't take 4 years.

Aloha!

8. Obama has the local advantage and momentum
Hillary has establishment support with Sen. Inouye, the government workers union and the President of the State Senate.

Hillary will get some support among older white women and some Asian support. The Obama campaign has a steady grassroots operation here and Hillary is more behind the scene. I've seen one house in my neighborhood with a Hillary sign. The Ron Paulers are here too. Hawaii, although a pretty solid Democratic state, does have a Republican governor and some conservative areas in part because of the military presence. Turnout should be decent.

I think it will break something like 82-18 for Obama.

12. And welcome to DU.
Neil Abercrombie has been working hard for Barack, Mazie Hirono and our Senator Akaka have not endorsed, which broke my heart, and Inouye is for Hillary and is bringing out the clone troopers. I remember canvassing with them, and their strength is in numbers, but they are very...perfunctory.
Anyway.

19. Hawaii is very different from the Mainland.
Hawaii doesn't just have "alot" of Asians. Hawaii is a majority Asian/Pacific Islander state. Creates a rather different dynamic, and I say that having lived in CA next to a majority Asian city and currently living in Hawaii. Hawaii is in general, a very optimistic state. We can't help it. We've got year round sunshine. Plus Obama is really from here more than anywhere else and I think Hawaii pride will override any general feeling that a black man can't be elected president. Hillary will get some support from white women and from older ethnic Japanese probably.

20. I've been looking for polls too without success
I lived on Oahu for a couple years, and it is a very different kind of place than the mainland. It doesn't follow conventional wisdom the way most states do. I suspect Hawaii is more likely to vote for Obama but the population can be rather unpredictable at times.
