Can anyone explain Bonus Delegates to me
I heard KO and Fineman (I think it was Fineman) talking last week about Bonus Delegates (not the same as Super Delegates). I seem to recall that Bonus delegates are awarded when the Win Margin is Big - as has been the case for Obama. Can anyone further 'splain. Also, do those Bonus delegates automatically go to the wide-margin winner? It only makes sense that they would,,,,but stranger things have happened.

Thanks in advance for the help in understanding.

1. In some states that award proportionally, you get some extra if you won the state.
that's all I can think of.

2. Bonus delegates are states that did not move their caucus or primary up sooner

3. I think i can
I think when a candidate gets over 65% in a congressional district the delegate go from being divided 2/2 to 3/5. That is where Hillary is having problems. She is losing so badly, that Obama is getting bonus delegates, and if he gets enough, it makes bigger states irrelevant. He gained enough bonus delegates in Colorado, Minnesota, and Georgia to overcome Hillary's win.

4. It's the margin of victory in delegates
The more delegates you won over the other candidate.

Example: State has 50 delegates. Candidate A wins 30, Candidate B wins 20. Candidate A has 10 bonus delegates.
