Penn: Clinton stronger because she loses so much?!?
Edited on Tue Feb-12-08 01:04 AM by mckeown1128
"We believe that Hillary Clinton in the long run is better position to take on John McCain," Mr. Penn told reporters. "She has consistently shown an electoral resiliency in difficult situations that have made her a winner. Senator Obama has in fact never had a serious Republican challenger."

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/12/us/politics/12clinton.html?_r=2&pagewanted=2&hp&oref=slogin

Since she has only one 2 elections in her career...with little difficulty... the only thing I can assume he is talking about is her losing states to Obama... in which she still is around afterwards... ?!??

I also like this comment where Penn tries to say that Obama's support with independents is his weakness in the GE.

Penn also made the explicit demographic case that Hillary's coalition of women and Latinos is in some sense more robust in a general election than Obama's, which relies, he said, on independents likely to desert him.

This is the guy Hillary should replace IMHO...

2. It's the nature of experience. The wise learn from failures.
HRC made her comeback. If she prevails in this contest or not, we've already made the history books.

3. But what Penn said is a lie....
He says Hillary is tough and that Obama has never had a serious Republican contender...

Neither has Hillary.

5. boy does he sound desperate.
What in the world is "electoral resiliency"?? And how does it apply to Hillary? Didn't she win in New York because Giuliani got cancer and withdrew, and then some other guy got in at the last minute?

Independent votes are now a negative??? Hillary's coalition...is in some sense more robust??

The guy sounds like Alan Greenspan.

12. Seriously, why didn't she fire Penn after Iowa?
Hillary should have fired Penn after Iowa, he was constantly reassuring the Clinton's right before the votes started to come in that they would win Iowa.

Now this just takes the cake in stupidity.
