Why Obama Will Steamroll McCain In November (Video)
Edited on Mon Feb-11-08 04:39 PM by andyrowe
No, McCain Can't - video

Last I'd heard he had pushed the withdrawal date to 2108, not 12,008 A.D.

Plus that ridiculous Iran comment locked up the Beach Boys vote for our party.

1. Can't see the video here.
I suspect based on your comments that it shows that McCain is beatable. What is the explaination that O. will be able to do it?

2. I think both Hillary and Obama will be able to do it.
The video is a parody of Obama's Yes We Can video, using lines from McCain quotes on the Iraq war, Iran, and war in general. Show's how disconnected McCain is on this issue.

4. I sure hope you're right.
Frankly, I think they are both weak. Hopefully, McC. will be weaker still.

10. I think you may be underestimating how sick the electorate
is of a Republican Potus.

12. I know they're sick of Bush.
What I am not clear on is whether that will transfer to other R candidates. Remember, it is not whether they like McCain or Clintbama but whether they like him less than they like us for just one day in November. If on that day the doubts about our candidate outweigh the misgivings about theirs, then we win.

15. For this candidate it will transfer.
He's been one of the few to stick by Shrub on Iraq (including the "surge") and his flip-flop on the Shrub tax cuts underscores his use of poll-driven maneuvering.

6. He's a long sitting Senator without the support of social cons.
He's gonna get blown out of the water, '96 style.

18. McCain will not excite indepenents like the media keeps saying. His AGE will be a factor.
No charisma
Fractures base
Very old

He'll be vulnerable standing next to an attractive, charismatic, smart, and youthful Obama.

7. No. He won't. Here is one reason why.
Edited on Mon Feb-11-08 04:07 PM by Straight Shooter
Sen. Joe Lieberman, in his capacity as chairman of the Senate’s Homeland Security Committee, has assigned gloomy homework to 16 federal agencies, asking them for full descriptions of their preparations in case of a nuclear device detonating on U.S. soil. It’s the nightmare scenario, terrorists importing a nuclear weapon and setting it off in an American city. So, the agencies will soon be receiving a letter from Lieberman and ranking Republican Sen. Susan Collins, asking them to answer a series of questions.

The purpose of the six questions, some in multiple parts, is “to assist the committee in determining the current state of the nation’s operational readiness to protect the people of the United States from nuclear terrorism and to carry out critical response missions in the event of the detonation of a nuclear device in the United States.”

The letter also includes this cheery passage: “The effects of a nuclear attack on the United States are almost beyond comprehension. Even if we only consider the impact that a relatively small 10-kiloton nuclear device would have on a city center, the devastation would be catastrophic. From the epicenter of the blast to a distance of approximately one-third of a mile, every structure would be destroyed and virtually no one would be left alive.”

“While our primary goal must be the prevention of such an attack,” the letter points out, “we must also prepare for the eventuality that a determined terrorist may succeed despite our best efforts.”

Anti-war rhetoric does not play well when the GOP has the media as its mouthpiece. Barack will be played as "weak on terror," "not enough experience in military strategy." He sure didn't help his cause by not even bothering to vote on Kyl/Lieberman.

The GOP games have begun, they have chosen their war candidate again, and if Barack doesn't start changing his anti-war tune very soon, you'll watch his support amongst the GOP dropping and McCain's rising. I've been paying attention to the increasing news of Iran being a threat, now you add "homeland" attacks, factor in that a lot of independents still like McCain and don't see him as a frothing-at-the-mouth Repub, and you've got a recipe for a GOP win.

Hillary could read the writing on the wall, too. She voted for Kyl/Lieberman.

8. So, you honestly think Iran will bomb us or Israel soon?

Nuking the location where Muhammad ascended into heaven? Knowing that they'd be annihilated?

I wonder what percent of DUers want to f*ck up Iran.

19. Where have you been the last 7 years?
They tore down Gore, Dean, Kerry and Edwards. What makes you think Obama will have a free ride.

Their ace in the hole right now is Rezko. Bookmark this for later.

13. I honestly hope he loses
Obama will do to the democratic party what Bush did to the republican party. There is not a doubt in my mind about that.

14. Then you really need to reexamine your opinions, because you're badly mistaken.
If anyone's a threat to the Dems future, it's Clinton, who represents a continuation of the slash-and-burn politics of the '90s. Not necessarily her fault, but still the case.

I mean series? Why are you doubtless about this? Certainly you aren't hoping he loses in November?
