Did We the American People Vote to have Super Delegates in 1980
Edited on Sun Feb-10-08 10:47 PM by HopeforChange
I have never really kept up with the Politics behind the whole electoral process. I have always just voted and felt that my vote counted or was supposed to count in determining the outcome of an election.

Now I am shocked to find out that the candidates are selected by caucuses and Super delegates.

Who picks these super delegates and what give the Democratic Party the right to disenfranchise it's voters in this manner.

It's enough to make me want to switch to the Republican or Independent party right now.

And now I hear that even the delegates selected in a precinct caucus can go to the county and then the State level and change their votes.

Where do the peoples votes come in to play?

One thing is for sure at this point. Both of the Democratic Party's candidates have built a grass roots support organization that will be up in arms like no one has ever seen before if they learn that all their hard work and efforts, all of their money that they donated and all of their votes mean nothing in the end.

I read a blog on one of the candidate's website blogs that they were going to organize a drive of 5000 vehicles to head to Denver for the National Convention to make sure the nomination of their candidate is not stolen from them. While this may only be wishful thinking or blogging I personally hope it happens on both sides to wake up the leadership of this party to the damage they are doing.

This election is different than any other in that I believe this is the first time that the campaigns have truly been electronic. People on the streets can be silenced and have to get permits to organize and pitch their positions or to protest. But on the Internet there are no permits required to organize and to protest and to pitch to the masses ones position. So it is the electronic grassroots movement that will backfire on the backroom games that have worked in the past.

I suspected when Edwards suspended his campaign that there was an end game that others know about that the voters do not know about. And what about what happened to Romney. I will still support my candidate of choice but with alot more skepticism then in the past.
