There is a state law that says Washington must have a presidential primary, but it also says the state parties decide how to allocate delegates. The Democrats say that all the delegates are allocated via caucusing, and the Republicans say 51% of their delegates are allocated by caucusing, and 49% via the primary.

In at least some jurisdictions, there are other issues on the primary ballot, so you shouldn't throw it out.

6. Democrats don't count the ballots, repukes do.

The 'pukes take half their delegates from the caucus (theirs is also today) and the other half from the primary on the 19th.

They tried to go ALL primary here for a while, but both parties objected.
