For Clinton, Latino vote could swing the deal

Texas a write off for Obama.

This year is different, according to political analysts and leaders of Latino activist organizations. While many Latinos like and admire both of the leading Democratic candidates for president, these authorities say, their years-long connection to former President Bill Clinton could deliver the party’s nomination to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York.

All that could add up to trouble for Obama in Texas, whose primary is March 4.

John Garcia, a specialist in Latino politics at the University of Arizona, said the closeness of the Democratic race amplified the significance of Clinton’s advantage among Latinos. Latinos comprise a third of the state’s voters, compared with African-Americans, who have turned out in equally large proportions for Obama but make up only 11 percent of the Texas electorate.

Roberto de la Garza, a specialist in Latino politics at Columbia University, told EFE that “it’s too late” for the Obama campaign to make up the lost ground.

“The reality is that Obama has not been much in touch with Hispanics,” he said.

1. So far, Latinos break for Clinton 2-1, blacks for Obama 7-1

So yes, Texas is an uphill battle for Obama and he will likely lose, but if he gets there with the momentum and the lead in pledged delegates, it'll be enough for him to make it competitive, and I believe he will.

2. Perhaps but first she has to get through
Feb. And if she suffers a string of defeats and he gets a string of solid victories, he goes into March 4 with all the momentum. And people often vote for who they peceive as the winner.

3. it's why Obama cannot win the GE
Hillary won the crucial blue states on super tuesday

sure, obama won some red states, like idaho....but in the GE those red states will stay red, not even purple, let alone blue

if obama gets the nomination, even some traditionally blue states could turn red

like california of all places

hispanics have been trending republican since 2004 or before

in Calif, they overwhelmingly voted for Hillary

they could easily vote for mccain since his immigration policy is tolerable

obama cannot win the ge

4. But would they vote for Vice President Bill Richardson?

Now there's a damn strong ticket! (Although it's definitely not a good campaign picture)
