Michigan Dems allocate delegates to Clinton, uncommitted
http://www.mlive.com/elections/index.ssf/2008/02/michigan_dems_allocated_delega.html

LANSING — Hillary Rodham Clinton will get the lion's share of Democratic national convention delegates after winning the state's Jan. 15 presidential primary.

The Michigan Democratic Party said Friday that Clinton will get 73 pledged delegates after winning 55 percent of the statewide vote.

Another 55 delegates will be uncommitted since 40 percent of the Democratic voters chose uncommitted. Because Barack Obama and John Edwards had taken their names off the ballot, many of their supporters voted for uncommitted.

The state also has 28 superdelegates, many of whom remain uncommitted, for a total of 156.

Michigan has been stripped of its delegates for moving up its primary, but party leaders expect the delegates to be seated at the national convention.

3. Clinton, DK, Uncommitted, and "Write In"...that's it. The repubs had 7 candidates listed
plus uncommitted and write in!

2. dirty politics. that's what this is. They better have a REVOTE or a caucus or they will have a
REVOLT.

IF YOU LIVE IN MICHIGAN CALL THEM AND TELL THEM YOU WILL NOT GOTV UNLESS THERE IS A FAIR ELECTION or CAUCUS.

7. If they did this - can you imagine 10,000+ protestors...
or more outside the convention hall?

Yea - I'm sure the DNC wants that to happen! :sarcasm:

Hell, make it 50,000! I'd go!!!

8. Too late . we emailed Brewer
told him to stick to his guns. This primary system stinks. Why they think this a primary. Earlier states limited our choices to those not of our liking. Can't vote for the full range of candidates, then don't give a damn about the semi finals.

18. Better prepare to take on the Michigan Republican machine.
There will be no other Michigan primary OR caucus - it's the law. And the Republican machine is already on record stating the law will not be changed just because Democrats "can't hold an election correctly". It's too late - it won't happen. Get over it.

4. I don't think so.
No way in hell MI seat delegates from a primary that ONLY had Hillary's name on the ballot.

It will not happen.

Either these delegates won't be seated, they will re-do the primary, or they will hold caucuses.

If one candidate pulls way ahead --- maybe. But Hillary et. al made a pledge and ya can't change the rule midstream. If the DNC did and Hillary won as a result; there would be cries that this nomination was stolen just like the SCOTUS stole it for Shrub in 00. There would be an all out rebellion by 1/2 the convention, 1000's of protesters in the streets...yea, that would really BAD for our party!!!

Same goes for FLA.

wishful thinking by the clinton staff is not facts. because she refused to take her name off the ballot means that she deserves those "votes". what % does obama and edwards split..20-20.. 10-30?

19. 55% Clinton to the 40% uncommitted (Obama/Edwards) 73 to 55
Looks like it's gonna have to do. They should split it even steven, due to such a fuck up. That would cancel out this mess, aside from the supers.
What a cluster fuck.
