As of 6:11pm est I could see 80 thread headings on my screen at one time. Of those 80, I counted only 3 threads that had anything to do with issues. Two were by Obama supporters discussing Clinton's record and the other one was a guy saying he didn't care if Clinton was President as long as she didn't censor his video games. That's less than 5% substance, the other 95%+ of GDP content is all spin.
This forum has been reduced to a big pile of mindless spin where we don't care about issues hardly at all, at least it seems that way by the numbers. It's nearly all about "snubgates", cults, and the evil M$M media (that's only evil when it doesn't tell us what we want to hear).
There's more spin in here than a laundromat.
Some people do a lot of work to comb through liberal publications to talk about the record, inclinations, and qualifications but it is either a.) ignored by detractors who would rather not discuss or defend their candidate's record or b.) just drowned out by a sea of vapid turbelence about utter bullshit.
Since when did one of the best liberal forums on the net become one of the most stupid?
Since when did DU start making the nytimes.com and cnn.com seem like a place to get a straight story without the dizzying effect of having the truth spun on its head?
I was here for the 2004 primary GDP debates and they were rough. There was a lot of crap then too to be honest. However, it got a good overhaul by the mods and ran circles around what we currently offer.
I'd appreciate someone, anyone, to do some deep digging about my candidate (recycling the Chicago Sun Times articles on REZKO for the 10,000,000th time doesn't count) so at least I'd have something to challenge my beliefs and make me a better informed voter.
Do some research... go to thenation.com or fpif.org or commondreams or counterpunch or some other place and bring us something to really talk about! That's what I've been trying to do.
Tell me something new about Clinton or Obama that I haven't already heard!
Can we act like adults and discuss the important choice between the last two candidates we have to choose from on things that matter like their record, positions, proposals, and even their rhetoric for just a wee bit?
