Poll question: Should Superdelegates vote as their state does? Or as the nation does?
Assuming you think the Superdelegates should vote in a way that somehow reflects the wishes of voters, do you think they should vote in a way that reflects the majority of their STATE elected delegates, or the majority of the NATIONAL elected delegates?

For example: If the majority of elected delegates support Candidate X, but the majority of Texas's elected delegates support Candidate Y, should Texas's superdelegates vote for X (national majority) or Y (state majority).

(Texas chosen because it hasn't had its primary yet.)

Apologies if I have somehow misstated or misunderstood the process.

1. I think they're going to have to vote as their constituents voted, at least the ones holding office
That's what I understood as Obama's comments yesterday and today - he was trying to make them afraid they would piss off their own constituents if they voted for someone different.

4. they would piss off their own constituents if they voted for someone different.
That would result in a SD split of 49.6% to 49.2%.

That wont solve the nomination crisis.

Whether we like it or not, the SD's are going to have to use their votes to nominate who they think would be best for the party and the country.

2. This is a tough question and I think it depends on when they endorse.
If it's before their state holds it's primary/caucus, I think they can endorse whom ever they choose.

But, if they wait until after their constituents have spoken, they really need to add their voice to their constituents' voices, not against them.

3. I'm not talking about endorsements though. I mean votes.
The question then is: national or state constituents?

5. Well, an endorsement assumes a vote.
So then, the same rules should apply.

7. All superdelegates should abstain from voting at all.
It's a grossly undemocratic system.

9. They should vote as the nation votes
because that is the only way the will of all the People is certain to be reflected in the final outcome.
