Free David Shuster!
How quickly they forget... all of the excellent investigative journalism Shuster has done particularly with regard to Valerie Plame and Plame-gate, and the WH cover-up... there are few MSM journalists who cover the stories he has and continues to.

Yes, he said something uncalled for, and APOLOGIZED- twice. Some here seem very quick to silence a voice like his (FIRE him! Tie him to the stake!); a guy who has been a faithful critic of the B*sh Admin and their many scandals. He has done GREAT work, and I hope MSNBC lets him out of his cage- soon.

Free Shuster!

He'll be back in a few days and all will be forgotten. Suspending him gives people time to let the wound heal.

17. Shuster is no Bush though
He would become personna non grata very quickly if he pulled the crap that Bush has.

Being President allows you to be a total ass if you want to and the press has to try to look past it in order to seem "unbiased".

Sucks though...

9. Shuster's a good reporter. But I won't hold him to a lower standard
MSNBC goes after the Bushies and I applaud that. But all I've seen them do is fair game. I'm backing Obama, but they really do play dirty when they go after Clinton and her family.

10. It's the best thing to happen for David's career. He'll be on The Daily Show.
Edited on Fri Feb-08-08 05:54 PM by TexasObserver
He'll be on Colbert. He'll get plenty of publicity and it will mainly be good publicity, as people make fun of the Clintons and point out how shallow and debased they are.

MSNBC will bring him back, and he'll get more face time than ever.

You arrogate to yourself the right to lambaste Democrats here who many of us admire and then you warn us we will be ignored if we challenge you on it...

I have seen all kinds of personalities on the net but you are sui generis...

Congrats

11. It is unfortunate. Shuster was the only one
who put forth any kind of parity on the morning show when Scarboro rants about Senator Clinton and shouts Obama Obama Obama for 3 consecutive hours.

16. Clinton fans are seeing everything through the prism of their candidate
Progressive icons like Michael Moore, Ted Kennedy, and Keith Olbermann went from hero to zero overnight, when they dared to blaspheme the goddess. Nothing else in the progressive agenda, nothing else the entire universe of left-leaning politics, and no other thoughts or ideas matter unless the proponent supports their candidate.

24. You don't have to be a drama queen to take offense at someone saying you're "pimping out" your child
That was a reprehensible thing to say - Chelsea's not even my child and *I* took offense. He needed to be called on it.

And I can just imagine what people would be saying if Chelsea WASN'T out campaigning for her mother!

27. I didn't like what he said, either
I agree that he should have been called on it. But I do like most of what David Shuster, Michael Moore, Ted Kennedy, and Keith Olbermann have said and done during the span of their careers. I think it's possible to voice criticism over one matter such as an uncalled-for comment or an endorsement for the other candidate without completely condemning a person as a whole and calling for the end of their career. I notice the way people totally condemned Ted Kennedy for a mere endorsement or have turned off Keith Olbermann for some vague supposed sneering he does at the mention of Hillary Clinton's name. I find it curious that many Obama supporters who were strong supporters of Wes Clark in 2003 and 2004 continue to admire him greatly after his strong endorsement of Hillary Clinton and that many Clinton supporters can't forgive progressive icons for doing the same thing, but doing it in Obama's favor.

It's literally making me hateful, depressed and prone to lash out... Before I go to bed I am going to pray to God that he gives me the discipline to never post here again...

It's not worth it...

There has to be more than this...

PEACE

23. what's kind of ironic....
Is that he made the remark on yesterday's "Tucker", which maybe ten people in the entire country watch.

I just saw his apology and I thought he did well, although O'Donnell was awkward with both the handoff and when she came back on-camera.
