Unofficial poll: As of right now, do you like Keith Olbermann?
Edited on Fri Feb-08-08 05:37 PM by Tropics_Dude83
Edit:

Do you like Keith Olbermann as of right now?

The Clintons have gotten David Schuster suspended and have neutered Chris Matthews into being terrifed to say anything about her. I suspect Keith Olbermann will be the next MSNBC anchor that they try to get fired.

So, before the next controversy erupts, let's see. Does DU like Keith Olbermann?

Feel free to post yes/no only if you don't have time for comments.

That's 2 down at MSNBC from the Clinton campaign. Keith is probably next. So again, I'd like to know. Do you like Keith as of now?

3. I Love KO. But He, As With Anyone, Should Be Judged On Their Merits.
If he crosses the line, then one with integrity should condemn it, regardless of one's previous feelings.

7. LOL in that sense
And also in the sense of thinking he's a great anchor and a great voice for the democrats. He was when we were voiceless pre November 2006.

25. Imus
Edited on Fri Feb-08-08 05:32 PM by Patsy Stone
made racially charged comments about private citizens, out of sheer bigotry, in a context which had nothing to do with them winning the championship.

Shuster accused the Clintons, who are public figures, of pimping out Chelsea for their own gains. That's not the same.

His comments were wrong, and I disagree with his choice of words, however his larger point, wholly ignored by most of DU, was that if Chelsea was a working member of the campaign people should be able to interview her and ask her about the issues.

"I will give Chelsea Clinton a break when she sits down and gives an interview to somebody like ... Bob Franken, because if she ... wants to do all this stuff, then she should face the questions, right?"

And even if you think he will be fired, your post still implies it's already happened.

16. Same here...
And remember his exposure of the Bush crimes in April/May of 2006 when Bush was still the "decider." Remember what he did to help us win in 2006.

No one is going after Keith right now but soon they might. Beware.

15. So where's the poll?
Look, he hasn't changed one bit on his own show, "Countdown".

The problem has been the fact that MSNBC keeps sticking Keith onto these debate/election coverage programs next to Matthews, and he doesn't have the same editorial control (the power to just be himself) on those shows that he has on "Countdown".

So if this were really a poll, I'd have to vote "YES", I like Keith Olbermann.

42. Not fired... Suspended.
After he went on and on about how proud the Clintons should be for how they raised her, he said that they were pimping her out for hilldogs campaign.

A bunch of people pretended to be offended, then Hillary said she wouldn't do any more debates on MSNBC, and they suspended him.

Thanks Hillary. You just cost us one of the Good Guys.

Even though I thought he was being too pro-Hillary recently... It must be really tough for him to be somewhat objective. I suppose if they take enough crap from both sides then they're doing well.

It's time for the M$M to tell The Clinton "false outrage" machine to go POUND SAND.

We're not going to take this bullshit in the form of false outrage anymore.

We're growing tired of The Clintons' old use of this LAME "I'm a victim" CARD. :puke:

I think he's a sanctimonious jerk w/an arrogant jock attitude & a sexist streak. Never liked him. But he's also a great voice for progressives, very eloquent & erudite, and incredibly courageous in standing up to the Bush Ad. when no one else in the media would.

31. I have lost some respect for him over the past month...
he's not in the dog house with Mathews and Schuster YET. But he's definitely lost his shine. I trust that he will reflect on this recent backlash and steer his course/discourse away from the adolescent-boy-group-think. If, on the otherhand he follows the boys to the tree-fort then he will have lost his reputation as a do-gooder, a progressive voice for America. MHO.
