What McCain's Up to In Choosing a V-P
A politically astute friend just called me and played this scenario out on me. He thinks this is what's happening:

a) McCain is bush's chosen successor. His reasoning on this is that he got screwed over back in 2000 in the NH primary with bush so bush had to promise him something to make amends. They have been allies ever since. So how did that happen when what bush did (McCain's illegitimate child rumors) was so unspeakable?

b) McCain is meeting with Lieberman this weekend. Vice-presidential pick?

c) Lieberman becomes the V-P running mate, which will peel off a certain amount of Democrats

d) The republicans are not afraid of Obama but they're terrified of Hillary because the Clintons know how to play dirty pool just as well as the republicans and in fact are actually better politicians.

e) The McCain-Leiberman duo may think they can beat Obama but they have some difficulty with Hillary.

Your thoughts?

1. I don't think AH Joe will be his choice! He's already pi**ed off the
Pub base and that would just ppi** them off more! They're happy to have Joe's votes, but they don't like him at all!

2. I still think it will be The Huckster.
I'm not sure how Lieberman as VEEP would be received.

3. First, he'll run around the country and make them all think their guy
or gal is on the short list for VP. He'll allude to dorks like Sam Brownback, then go to the next state and laud some other Repuke jerkoff.

He'll tell 100 people they're in his top ten, then he'll choose whoever he's told to pick.

9. yes, later...
I heard Rachel Maddow on Keith and she said bush still hasn't endorsed mcCain and that the bushes hate McCain.

But post 6 above makes the point I think my friend was getting at.
