The Truth behind all the "Cult" Talk....Plain ole Jealousy
I'm beginning to get the impression that many Clinton supporters on DU who are taking part in this talk of Obama supporters being like Cultists are experiencing a LOT of jealousy. Maybe it was the fact that the Clinton campaign had to pull a fast one to get their supporters to donate cash? Maybe it's the vast amount of Obama online donaters? Maybe it's the fact that Obama is a REAL THREAT and the Clinton campaign sorely miscalculated how to campaign against him? Maybe it's the positive media coverage? I don't know, but whatever it is...the Clinton people on DU seem unusually nasty and jealous lately.

I've found that I'm on DU less and less now. Advice to Clinton supporters: GET A FUCKING GRIP!!!

1. I now count 8 different threads on the front page of this forum with Cult in the OP
that were started by posters who are upset about the word cult getting thrown around in regards to Obama supporters.

I'm upset about it also, but please be aware that what most helps a meme go viral is endless commentary on it. If any media people check into DU today the odds will rise that they will do a piece on cults in politics tomorrow, simply because of the number of threads this board is buzzing over with "cult" in the title.

3. I came in here last night, and there were eleven threads
about Obama supporters being cultlike. All of them were started by Obama supporters.

I read several other threads where there were no references to cults until an Obama supporter made a reference.

In contrast, there was one very nasty thread about cults started by a Clinton supporter. I objected to it, as did several others. It is now locked.

5. I think it's hilarious how the anti-cult people keep posting about the cult.
It'll get more coverage from the MSM that's for damn sure.

2. They want to downplay any support
They'd prefer to believe that we're all brainwashed than the fact that we support our candidate for tangible reasons. This would be akin to us talking about supporting Clinton being nothing more than loyalty to a brand name. The same reason I buy Crest toothpaste or use Dial soap.
