Success breeds success. If Obama
does well in Feb. he'll head into March 4th with virtually all the momentum. Things can change a lot with a series of solid wins. There's no guarantee, of course, that Obama will sweep the Feb contests, but if things play out as they appear they might, it'll be a huge boost for him.

And it becomes possible for him to win Ohio or TX or both. And he'll win big in Vermont and either win or come close in RI.

1. Yes, cali. He'll win tomorrow, and who knows he wins in Maine as well!

2. I haven't a clue about Maine, Katz
It's funny, because in a lot of ways, Maine is demographically identical to my state of Vermont, where Obama will clean up, and he's always been far more popular here than Clinton. We'll see who comes out for the caucuses. I certainly wouldn't write him off in Maine.

6. nope, Edwardian, try reading for comprehension
I'm counting eggs. Please note the word "if" which I used in the OP.

Nervous laughter is indicative of your worried state of mind.

5. I think Nebraska is a pretty good bet for him, myself. He got a great crowd here yesterday.

7. If you look at the ten states...
Edited on Fri Feb-08-08 11:16 AM by TwoSparkles
...that have primaries or caucuses before March 4th, Obama has amazing advantages
in nearly every, single state.

It's remarkable.

The first three states that vote on Saturday (Louisiana, Nebraska, Washington), Obama
is favored in ALL.

In Louisiana, Obama has a huge advantage. According to nola.com--Obama is at 80 percent.

In Nebraska, Obama also has a huge advantage. Clinton has no events planned there. Obama
was just in Nebraska, and 7,000+ attended.

In Washington, Obama is favored, but it will be competitive. Hillary has three stops
in Washington, and Obama has two planned. Obama has raised twice as much money in Wash state
as Hillary.

It's probable that Obama will win all three states. This gives him momentum going forward, into
the Maine race (Sunday) and into the "Potomac Primary" states on Tuesday where he is again expected
to win all three states. He has significant advantage in DC, Virginia with Maryland being more
competitive, but still tilting Obama.

If Obama wins most of these ten states, this race will significantly change. He'll have the momentum
going into OH, PA and TX--which will help to erode Hillary's leads in those states. (However, Hawaii
and Wisconsin vote before OH, PA and TX--and both are expected to be Obama territory).

It's going to be an interesting week, that's for sure.
