Hillary supporters
Edited on Fri Feb-08-08 01:52 AM by Levgreee
show the dozens of threads of people directly attacking you, the Hillary supporters. And that, you say, validate your relentless spamming on several insults at the Obama supporters.

I think it will be hard for you to find them. There are some, yes, but most of the criticism has been about Hillary instead, some of the main points being her Iraq vote, how she carries out her campaign, her connections, her past, her political views, etc., all things that can be argued.

I'm not saying there weren't infantile threads also(such as on the crying, or other immature hits on Hillary), there was, but they were still mostly directed at Hillary.

You can't create anything substantial from a "cult" claim being repeated 50 times, or simply claiming the supporters of another candidate are all "young, ignorant, and know nothing about their candidate, politics, or policies."

This brings the level of discourse down from being salvagable, to being absolutely abhorrent, of no value.

Start criticizing Obama, the candidate, on whatever issue you see fit, rather than the supporters.

time here. Both sides need to be civil and the mods need to enforce some code of conduct.

10. no.
I think it means we do what we can to stop the newbies from taking over this board such as a list of their usernames AS they get too ugly and post lies and innuendo.

4. Funny how bullies back down when challenged
Now that the Obama supporters can't get away with murder, they CRY murder.

Well, I guess it's progress.

You Obama fans have a helluva nerve to whine about personal attacks.

I've been battling monkeys for years and I know hypocrisy when I smell it.

Heat. Kitchen. There's the door.

You don't get to censor others because it's your fat in the fire for a change.

Grow up.

6. "You don't get to censor others because it's your fat in the fire for a change."
By making your purpose directly attacking other posters you are violating the ToS. It is not myself, that has the mind to censor you.

Keep throwing your inane insults, they do not insult me, because I don't consider there to be truth to them. But it does hurt the community as a whole, much more than attacking a candidate him/herself would.

13. Whining About Personal Attacks against the Clintons?
Welcome to the world of the Billary. Turnabout is fairplay. And if you feel like you're being "attacked", try being on the other side of the Clinton machine when YOU WORK FOR IT!

"You Obama fans have a helluva nerve to whine about personal attacks."

The Clintons and their supporters brought the baggage to the game - now its time to face the piper. Had the Clintons not been involved in bribes and illegal donations from guys like Huang, Chung, Charlie Lin, Hse, Schwartz (Loral Corp.), et.al., you Clinton supporters would not be in this position.

It's about time the Clintons face the inevitable . . . and I'm a conservative white male voting for O'Bama with full force - merely to watch the Clinton's pay the price for their antics.

14. When I came on board tonight,
the first thing I noticed was thread after thread about cults and Starbucks. All of them were posted by newbie Obama supporters.

Was it supposed to be funny? I fail to see any humor in spamming this board.

17. LOL! You're preaching to the choir here, buddy. It's the Obama fans who are whining
and that's why the thread was started.

Take your best shots and don't whine when it gets thrown back atcha -- like the Obama fan who started this whinefest.

18. I haven't been insulting anyone, but I've been grouped into the Obama cult and, as evident here,
insulted (using you for an example).

So quite frankly, i don't think you really understand the situation. I've blocked 7 Hillary supporters who I've found consistently offensive, and without content. Hillary supporters can easily do the same for offensive Obama posters, instead of lashing out at everyone, regardless of their offense.

That's why I said your thread smacks of censorship.

7. When people post these complaints
and criticize all sides, they have a point.

To criticize only one side is just blatantly disingenuous.

We're routinely called Hillbots, Shillbots, Shrillbots, DLC shills, republican shills, etc. etc.

Now that Obama's taking some heat, people are upset? Fuck that. Everybody should grow up - this isn't a one-sided problem.

And I also did say that Obama supporters were not being positive. But I believe the attacks on Obama supporters has been more vicious + common, and I don't think you can supply evidence otherwise.

You don't have to do it, no skin off my nose. But that is why I started this thread. I was referring to my original post, if you happened to read it.

I haven't seen this spamming of attacks on Hillary supporters (there has been some, sure) that has been used to validate the tide of insults, open warfare, revenge, at Obama supporters.

15. its got to start with someone, with all of us, I've been making
an effort to keep my posts on the issues. If Hillary is down in money or the delegate count I note her formidable campaign and not to underestimate her. I also note the issue I have with her but its been ususally with links to the proof. i have taken some heat for not liking her record or campaign style.

Just the same I have changed my posts when I found I was wrong or misunderstood someones post, like tonight I did that with an apology.

This has to start with someone, all of us, ending the ugly pointless cpomments and restoring civility to the board.

I would like to see longer term members act to combat this, possibly with a somewhat juvenile method. Put a list up of names of those that violate civility with flame fests, name calling, posting lies etc. submit the names and the thread to the mods and post those usernames. Give them a chance to redeem themselves and get their names off. If they violate the rules 3 or more times restrict the posts they can make.

Just a thought. I never wanted my name up on the board, especially not with check marks by it.

21. A couple of weeks ago,
if I saw posts that I thought were unfair to Obama, I would try to defend him with sourced material, or personal experience, since I live in Illinois. After seeing so many nasty posts about Clinton, I just gave it up.

It's odd. I was able to sit with my family members and talk about all the candidates. We ended up with two votes for Clinton, one for Obama and two for Edwards. Nobody resorted to any personal attacks.

I am not sure all these people are Obama supporters. Some may be simple disrupters. How does anyone get over a thousand posts in one month? I don't think I had that many my first year here.

28. It started with me months ago
I don't use any childish terms. I've never started a thread attacking a candidate.

I've challenged people on ALL sides regarding their behavior. I alert on unfair attacks against ALL candidates.

But I'm sick of one side complaining that they're the poor victims here. If they think it's a one-sided problem, they're either stupid or blind.

19. you've got to read this post I found...it is so true
his vocab is uber stimulating

Who Do You Think Will Be Swifter, Stronger And More Mentally Ready To Ward Off The Attack Machine?

To me, it's not about the war or any other policy. Who will win, will be who is best prepared mentally, tactically and willfully to defend against and counter attack in response to the RW attack machine. I think Obama may hold his own to some degree, but at some point may find himself flustered and vulnerable. I think Hillary is absolutely stronger than he is in that arena, and will skillfully not only deflect the attacks, but also turn them against her opponent in such a way to give her strategical advantage. I'm convinced this trait as it relates to the GE is the one most vital trait our candidate needs to have, and I think Hillary absolutely wins out in that category.

Do you think Obama would be better than her in that regard? Or do you think that trait isn't really as important as I'm making it? I'm curious your as to your opinion on that.

and this mmm does he thrash the OP soundly follow the dialogue between the OP and OPERATIONMINDCRIME

22. As someone who only recently chose between the two candidates
and who would be perfectly happy with either one, I watched and read many threads coming from both sides. About equal if you ask me. Sometimes there were more Obama supporters flinging shit, then there would be a phase of more Clinton supporters flinging shit.

But, since you asked for a thread attacking Clinton supporters I will post one that I read yesterday that I find ridiculous. I could find more but go look yourself. If you try to be objective, you will find them a lot easier to find.
