Hope flavored Kool-Aid drinking Obama Babies, check in
Edited on Thu Feb-07-08 08:13 PM by sniffa
I've decided on my candidate, and I'm tickled pink at the results on Tuesday. I also made more of a conscious decision to ignore the ridiculous and look forward. This is now Obama's race to lose, and we need to get our shit together and keep our eye on the prize, so to speak.

You're obviously free to disagree, but I suggest taking a new approach with some, I guess, "issues" that seem to pop up freely. Hide or Ignore. The energy spent in either reacting to flame bait, or answering a "sincere" question based on "concern," or dancing around the barn as the goal posts continue to move, and the starting line constantly redrawn, but occasionally in a different shape, is wasted energy.

There's too much of obvious garbage that's posted, then goes on for 200+ posts and all that's been done is you've been enraged, had some posts deleted, or if lucky, made an awesome point (ok, so that's good too).

It's time to look forward and bring it home.

PS: This thread applies equally to the Hillary supporters, but since the title obviously indicates that this is a thread for Obama supporters, I'm sure it won't be read by any.

17. Please tell us what "Hope" has to do with running the country?
The "kool-aid-drinker" line comes from Jim Jones, btw, whose followers were told that drinking the poisonous Kool-aid was 'good' for them .

And I'm not surprised that you would need to ask what hope has to do with running the country because you and your candidate are so hopeless that it's sad.

Edited on Thu Feb-07-08 08:31 PM by niceypoo
so instead you launch into an ad hominim attack on me...

So much for the 'unity' and 'hope', that Obama supposedly 'inspires,' eh?

Person A makes claim X
Person B attacks person A
Therefore X is false

The fallacy of 'ad hominim'

Clinton stole half of her stuff from Barack -- who has the most complete and detailed energy plan of any candidate, any party.

Clinton is a farce. The Houston debate, which will focus on energy issues, will show how bankrupt the pawn of the DLC really is.

The spammers

The constant concern trolls

The stealth Hillary supporters

The "thinly veiled" bigots (oh, and the overt - that's a no-brainer).

The people asking "sincere questions" just to smear the shit out of him, and then continue to act sincere with concern (see #2) to continually repeat some stupid shit that is just not true to the point of being highly comical.

The people who spam (see #1) everywhere with some stupid insult/meme.

My system isn't for everyone, but it works for me. :hi:

28. I've gone back and forth....
with the problem and the solution to what passes as political discourse here. I used the Ignore feature in the beginning but then I decided that wasn't right. How is it that I can expect to understand, if I don't read the type of language that is used to express one's views? It serves to prevent any real discussion. The truth is avoided, and slurs take precedence. Is this anyway to get informed? Maybe. This is the problem. The regurgitation of what is expressed on the television set, is not a way out. It is the way to stay stuck in the mire of an uninformed, divisive society.

It's the sprint to the finish now, and this shit is absolutely pointless and tiresome. Everyone, get your shit together and do what needs to be done for your candidate. If you think it's posting on DU, then keep doing that.

If DU is distracting you from helping your candidate or worse, beating you down, please take my advice and rearrange your DU experience. You can always change it after the primary wars end.

60. Yes and I am voting for Obama on his record and the issues he has proposed - The man is brilliant!!!
Since Hillary has said she has 35 years of accomplishments and ties this to Bill's tail - let's take a look at what they have accomplished:

NAFTA, CAFTA, Communications Bill of 1996 Act, and outsourcing money to India -

Her vote against the people and for the Corporations in the Bankruptcy Bill -

Voting for the Iraq War to invade - not to help protect the troops after they are all ready there -

And not least: Her vote of the so-called "Lieberman-Kyl" resolution on Iran.

Now for Obama's accomplishments:

Obama Introduces Bill To Prevent Veterans Homelessness

Obama Demands Answers on Blackwater Immunity Deal

Have you thought about holding a sign on some intersection there? If you're up for it, you could even phone bank or door knock.

I'm not a phone person at all, but I'm the man in person. We're going to get involved in RI.

I put them ignore the first time they say something obnoxious. One bot, one bite. And they're gone. It tickles me to no end to see their IGNOREDS lined up. The first nine posts after your initial post are all Ignores for me.

Sure makes reading the board more fun!! It's like Superman's dad with those criminals on Krypton. Stick them in those squares, and send them flying off into space.

I did send him a donation tonight because of the Clinton sneakiness in manipulating PEOPLE. Take the games to your fellow Senators, Senator, and don't fuck with the minds of the people you want to represent.

Anywhosal.

Enough negativity.

One of my co-workers is the local Obama chair. We are just getting kicked off here and getting the petitions signed for delegates and kicking off campaigns. Now that John has suspended, I told her this afternoon that I will go to their meeting next week and see what I can do to help.

Undecided as to my vote though, other than it will not be to her.

As I've stated my progression: Kucinich/Dodd and then Edwards, I went to my natural choice of the two remaining. After attending his rally, I am now fully on board. Yes, being there live was inspiring but I was very happy he hit the point of Darfar, and again torture.

80. I have a feeling my state is going to come into play in a huge way
(PA -- April).

We aren't used to the attention from candidates and I figured that none would come through here as it would be all sewn up by now.

John is out, but I am going to bet the farm that Obama will have quite a few stops planned that month.

Hopefully get into one!

Will take your advice on the pic thread you posted about going VERY early...
