+++POSITIVE THREAD+++
Look...there is a lot of infighting here, and when you look at the big picture we have two very good candidates. Whoever wins the nomination will be better then a McCain/Huckabee ticket. How about a positive discussion for a change.

I like coming to DU, for the interactions, and discussion. How about we discuss possible running mates?

I see either an OBAMA/SEBELIUS or a CLINTON/CLARK ticket, what does everyone think (without flaming)

Sebelius because she is a moderate popular governor from a Conservative midwestern state. Her Dad was Governor of Ohio (!) Daughter-in-law of a Republican congressman. She shores up the woman vote, appeals to moderates and centrists, and has a good record, plus she gave the SOTU rebuttal and has some national recognition

Clark because he was a popular figure for 2004, would help with southern states being from Arkansas, help to bring more veterans over who are considering McCain, and he would bring some credibility to the ticket being a decorated veteran.

Any other ideas?

1. Obama/Biden adds nat'l security creds.
But I'm with you on Clinton/Clark...that would clean up.

2. SIbelius is a problem because Americans on the whole
don't know her, and, judging from her speech in response to the SOTU speech, she doesn't have much charisma compared to a lot of national leaders. How about Obama/Clark or Clinton/Clark? I'm still an Edwards supporter, but I think he would not be satisfied with the position of the vice president which, depending on the president can be a pretty thankless job. I consider Edwards' abilities to be superior to those of either Obama or Clinton, and I think that Obama and Hillary would feel outsmarted, out done by Edwards if he were vice president. So I hope that Edwards is given a cabinet position at which he can really use his creativity and bold thinking for the benefit of our country or that he decides to head a nonprofit or think tank that keeps the country on track.

Caveat: I was a Clark supporter in 2004. I think that Clark is well liked and well known by many Americans -- far more that like or know Sibelius. Also, Clark has the foreign policy expertise that is needed to balance out Obama and Hillary. Clark cannot be challenged with regard to his military experience. Clark leaves McCain in the dust insofar as knowledge of the military and foreign policy are concerned. So, I favor Clark for VP regardless of whether Hillary or Obama is the presidential candidate.

3. good point
I agree, I think they would feel too threatened by Edwards...

I like the idea of a Clark VP on either ticket

8. I would too, but Clark has criticized Obama

now that he is a surrogate for Clinton. So I don't see it happening.

If it weren't for that...Obama/Clark would totally dominate.

6. Fuck Lee Mercer. If he's the Democratic nominee, I'm voting for Nader.
Nader's running, right?

9. Hows this: watching Clinton campaign showed me how full of shit all the talk about her being cold..
..and unlikable and stuff really was. She has great energy and great personality on the campaign trail.

My compliments to the "other guy" for the day.
