Are the people participating at DU too stupid, or too unsophisticated to recognize the difference between genuine debate, and disruptive attacks?


I don't think so. But what really amazes me is that when you call some of these people on their BS, they just persist, as if their motives haven't been exposed for all to see.

I have to discuss this issue with Skinner, but I really don't understand why posting information from John Kerry's website onto DU is a problem. This seems like a pretty worthwhile project, and it should help DUers find out more about the positions of our nominee.

However, as I said, I will be discussing this with Skinner. This project would generate a lot of threads and we will have to determine whether it will be overly disruptive. In the meantime I've asked that the project be temporarily suspended.

Now to answer your question, I'm not sure why you would want to post each of the former candidates' websites onto DU. John Kerry is the presumptive nominee, all but two of the other candidates have dropped out, and it's clear that Kerry will be the man going up against Bush this November. Posting the other candidates' websites seems to me to be rather pointless at this juncture.

In order to obey guidelines and rules here at DU, to use someone's pseudo name and "stupid" behind it violates the protocol.

Example,
If one were to venture into the basement threads foreign policy and dust of forgotten threads of 9/11, of which a few still post, the same arguments are going on forever. No matter what new information surfaces from the 9/11 investigation. It is O.K. to label someone a conspiracy theorist, no matter what facts (known-knowns) surface.

Here's where the questions posed comes into play. Why would anyone, for three years, continue to post as an argument the govt version of 9/11 (even though all the answers aren't in) over and over again? Through every thread, no matter what the topic? It's not a debate. It's I'm right. Why would someone spend all that time doing that?
