The meme is that Hillary is being defeated by a "cult"?
Edited on Thu Feb-07-08 03:05 AM by ProSense
The so-called "cult" that delivered almost the same number of popular votes as Hillary got and the most delegates for Obama.

While Obama's campaign is in a great position, thanks to the so-called "cult," Hillary's is fighting for it's financial life.

How much did Hillary's campaign spend on robo calls and misleading mailers?

Only desperation would force some to equate a grassroots campaign in a democracy with a "cult."

Edited to add: My Talking Points (really scary stuff)

1. If someone argues that Obama voters are a cult, they are also saying Hillary can't get those votes
this is a pretty dumb move strategically since as far a double edged swords go this one cuts a lot sharper toward Clinton.

4. Alas, there is a bit more to it than that
There is a tinge of fanaticism radiated by (guesstimate) about 10-25% of his supporters. The rest are in a healthy political swoon, energized and enthusiastic but without falling quite that desperately in adoration. Normal people, fired up.

But that 10-25% can be quite abrasive ... and remind me overly much of religious zealots. Scary.

My own personal reaction to this is to avoid even the healthy swoon. With so many obviously on board, some of us need to sit back and observe from a "no dog in this hunt" viewpoint. Me, I try to focus on what Obama has proposed rather than the eloquence with which he has proposed it. I try to focus on the quality of the man and his ideas and not the emotional energy that swirls around him.

Still, after hearing him speak, I confess I must struggle sometimes to resist the urge to yell out

"ERIN GOBAMA!"

(Me and another Irish lad adopted him as our long lost Irish cousin a few days back. But I digress.)

16. No. Bush LOST to Gore and Kerry. RNC stole both elections and DNC let them.
And, in fact, Bush also had some help from a few deceitful Dems, didn't he?

As observed by historian Douglas Brinkley in April2004:

And WITNESSED By Woodward at the WH on election night:
