Hmm... Subtract The Party Hacks, er... Super Delegates, And Obama's Still In The Lead !!!
Hillary Clinton
Pledged: 547
Superdelegates: 193
Total: 740

Barack Obama
Pledged: 553
Superdelegates: 106
Total: 659

On the serious side though...

I truly hope this doesn't come down to the Super-Delegates choosing our nominee for us. Rachel Maddow had a guy on Monday explaining who they are, they're history, and how it's all supposed to work. They had a scenario where one candidate won the "popular" delegates (as in we the people deciding), but the super-delegates choosing the other. They feared this had the potential to split the party in two.

I hope who ever gets the nomination, has a clear majority of BOTH sets of delegates.

1. Doesn't that mean Hillary won more pledged delegates on Super Tuesday?
Wasn't Obama leading in pledged delegates entering ST?

3. super delegate commitments mean almost nothing
They are etched in invisible ink, and can change in an instant.

There are a number of contests within a week of today. If he can win the majority of those, he can gain super delegates who currently have their names on the Clinton side.

4. Well That's What I'm Hoping For...
That whoever gets the "popular" delegates will get the "super" delegates over to their side.

Otherwise we're gonna have one hell of a mess on our hands.

6. super delegates will fall into line if he wins more from here on
Super delegates are party animals. Many signed on for Clinton when she was the "sure thing." Now that the sure thing status is gone, they're looking at their states and reading the handwriting on the wall. If they believe she will drag the down ticket candidates down, they will abandon her.

7. Updated results for the OP (Hillary ahead with pledged by 6):
Hillary Clinton
Pledged: 632
Superdelegates: 193
Total: 825

Barack Obama
Pledged: 626
Superdelegates: 106
Total: 732

Hillary will gain more as the night goes on, CA continues trending toward her and they're only at 80% reporting.

8. I have posted repeatedly that the superdelegates and/or MI &FL delegates ...
... had BETTER NOT overrule the popular vote/pledged delegates.

Like you, I hope there's a clear winner before the convention, 'cause overriding the popular candidate (w/ the most pledged delegates) could cause a critical rift (and possibly rioting).
