8. Yeah, apparently there was some chaos, and delays
At last count, it's 48%=48%, obviously too close to call. 38% of votes in.

10. Cool. I'm not in any hurry. At least we can trust whatever the outcome is.

3. They kept the polls open until 10:00 because they ran out of ballots and
had to deliver more. And they can't start reporting until the polls close.

6. Here is why
Dems waits to release numbers until voting finishes

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Democratic Party Chairman Brian Colon says he's waiting until all voters have cast their ballots before releasing any results from New Mexico's Democratic presidential caucus.

He says party rules require him to wait.

Rio Rancho is about the only polling site still open.

Party officials say there are about 450 people still in line at Rio Rancho High School.

Democrats turned out for the caucus in greater numbers than predicted, surprising party officials and causing long lines.

When the polls closed at 7 p.m., Colon said people waiting in line at closing time would still be able to vote.

He says the turnout is off the charts and that the party is thrilled -- and overwhelmed.

7. Ever spent time in NM?
It makes total sense to me. It's a very quirky state, and is pretty sparsely populated. The majority of the state is dotted with little villages that are mostly hispanic/native american. Due to the small population, the infrastructure is pretty haphazard at times. It was like this in 2000 and 2004 - it just takes forever to get their results. I'm not really sure what the problem is, but it's just the way it is there. Everything is just a little off, and I love it for that!
