Dean Suppoters: Thank you for all you have done
I've seen your great work both in person doing campaigning for Clark, as well as online.

We owe you the world. And, should we pull this thing off in November, the world will owe you the world!

1. Howard Dean is smart. He's feisty. He's rare. He's also --

-- historic. Hasn't been anybody like him since LaFollette, really. If my grandmother were alive, she would work for Dean just as she worked for LaFollette and I pity the fool who says she shouldn't.

Can't speak for Terry McAuliffe, but if he's a student of history, he will tell you that Dean's contribution is gigantic. His children and their children will benefit from the work Dean's campaign did this past year.

No crystal ball have I, but a Democratic win in November seems more likely now than last year this time. And if that happens, much is owed to Howard Dean's campaign. WillyBrandt has this one nailed and nailed good.

5. C'mon. You know the Dems just wanna use Dean supporters
for money, manpower and enthusiasm but chuck all of Dean's ideals for government owned by we the people.

If you are a Clark supporter you too should be indignant. And all this late praise pisses me off more and more every day.

Luckily for them all it does is make me more and more determined to get involved and throw all those bastards out. Right now that is the overriding thing in my life, not getting rid of Bush but getting rid of people in my own party who are sell outs and I hate that I feel this way.

My Democratic party has been hijacked by hacks. I am going to take it back and I ask all Greens to help us do this. Get involved. Take it over. The Dem party is dying with these hacks in charge. All we do is play defense against a Republican party constantly on the offensive because we suffer from a lack of leadership.

Kerry is a perfect example of this. His entire campaign will be based on being so ambivalent that all people can say "He agrees with me". He counts on hatred of Bush to win him the Presidency. I HATE THAT. I want to vote for something. I want to vote for conviction. I want to vote for someone who is a leader. John Kerry 2004 is an amalgamation of words, phrases and concepts of his competitors. Soon he will incorporate Bush's ideas into his speeches. When that comes I will SCREAM!

Why why why is this the choice we are left with? It hurts so much to know that I should be supporting him. But I can't because I don't respect him and frankly I hate that he is so damned dirty. Why why why. Auuuggggh.

6. I've praised Dean for a long time, even far before the campaign.
I'm disappointed, but I think Kerry gets a far worse rap than he deserves.

The reason I'm praising Dean is more or less what you're saying: he made the fossils come to life, and brought it a ton of energy and passion into what was a dispirited, amorphous base.

I like the fact that Dean is starting his own organization, because it means the energy he fomented can be organized, instead of just being an big blob of manpower and money.

7. dd123, you turned on Oak Street when you --
-- should have turned on Maple.

I'll decide what I'm indignant about, not you.

I praised Dean in my response to a great original post.

I will re-assert my praise to anybody who wants to hear it.

I'm sorry you're so strung out over the results of the nominating process so far. I'd only ask that you use the good mind and strong heart and support the Democratic ticket against Bush.

As goals go, that's a pretty good one, I think.

4. Well, I voted for Clark myself on Sup Tuesday
And am glad I did.

Vote for Kerry in November, and work for progressive change in any way is my mantra.

8. The Passion of Howard Dean
I liked Dean a lot, in fact, I was going to vote for him in the primaries before he dropped out. He seemed to be to the right of Kerry overall, but he had a willingness to fight the pukes long before any of the other candidates developed a spine. He had energy, anger, and passion, which is what brought about his downfall. It's impossible to believe in anything in this country without people assuming there's something wrong with you. If you believe in the Democratic Party, you are a mindless party line autonoma. If you believe in the Green Party, your a naive mindless party line autonoma. If you believe in a particular candidate for office, you've fallen into a cult of personality, like the Deaniacs. We are only allowed to care deeply about stuff that doesn't matter, like American Idol; To care about anything important is a desperate sign that something is terribly wrong with you and you should be mocked relentlessly until you change your ways. Thank you Howard Dean, for having the courage to say what you believe even if all the kool kids were mocking you. I will follow your example by voting for the most liberal candidate in every primary and doing my best to convince my friends to do likewise. Then, maybe in a few years, we will have a real Democratic Party again, unashamed of it's roots in liberalism.
