3. This testimony by the Acting Army Sec. is dynamite.

As plain an admission of failure that I've ever heard from ANY federal offical. Why the hell wasn't that the lead story on all the nightly news, and front page on all papers? A brutal failure that makes all that talk of "adults" being in charge a damning indictment of the administration, and the media it is in bed with!

Devastating, and Kerry is going to call them on it.

5. Why wasn't it front page news?
Because the media was into all Martha Stewart all the time.

These morons can only cover 1 story at a time, & they usually select the least important to average Americans.

I am impressed with the job that Kerry & his campaign is doing in going after Bush & Co.

6. I agree
and despite what some of our friends keep sayin here on DU, I think that his "rapid response capabilities" are excellent.

As for why it isn't front page story, this testimony, I am actuallu surprised to some extent. Planning failures that can directly be linked to untold numbers of US casualties is red meat stuff that would sell papers.

7. Kennedy said that out of 17 MA troops killed so far, 10 were in
thin-skinned HumVees.

But the Iraqis were supposed to meet us with flowers...

8. I like John Kerry, and wholeheartedly support him, but he may be
on shaky ground on this issue, since he voted against aid for the troops.

10. I'm sorry I missed it. I think he has improved dramatically as a
"speechifier."

11. I've been waiting for this story to be told!
I feel so strongly, I'm repeating the same words I just posted on this topic in LBN:

First, my daughter heard General Clark talk about (this issue) in a private session with supporters at a campaign event in Boston. Then, my nephew went to Iraq, and had to buy his own protective gear (he was posted for only a short stay, and, thank God, is out of there alive). There were a few stories about the unarmored Humvees, but the press has ignored this outrage. I hope Kerry can and will bring the truth to the American people: that the George Bush who makes speeches surrounded by cheering troops, and makes a big show of serving them a Thanksgiving turkey, endangers those very troops by sending them into harm's way unprotected, and provided with inadequate and shoddy equipment, while Halliburton earns millions. Shame on that AWOL chickenhawk, whom his supporters like to call the "CIC"!
