Should Kerry consider a woman as VP and if so who are some
My suggestion would be Ann Lewis. She is awesome. She takes no BS and knows her stuff inside and out. I would love to see Hillary also just to drive the wingnuts insane if for no other reason but there are so many good reasons for placing her on the ticket I couldn't even begin to list them. Any one have any other good suggestions or would a woman be a huge mistake?

1. yes, but not Hillary Clinton
I think that a woman should be considered--but I think Hillary is too polarizing a figure. I think that Sen. Boxer of California would be excellent.

6. I think Mary would be an excellent choice
She's a very good campaigner, and, pardon the expression, she has a huge hardon for bush and what he did during her senate run. However, she is in the second year of her six year term and we need to keep that seat and her seniority. However, on the other hand, the new governor of Louisiana is a Democrat. I think she'll be a player in the race. She is with Kerry today campaigning in New Orleans.

3. Why NOT Hill?
Sure, the freepers would froth, but you don't lose any votes there. Many, many women DO admire and like her though. So does this man...

5. The reason Hillary isn't the right choice this time around
is because for a change the Democratic party is (relatively speaking) finally unified against Bush while the republican party is in disaray. The conservatives are actually split on several issues like the budget, and ammending the constitution...

Hillary would change that. Hillary (who I would love to see as president some day) is still too fresh in the republican mind bank. She, even more than Bill galvanized the right and brought all their frothing bigotry out. If she were on the ticket the republicans would have THE one galvanizing issue they could all be distracted by...they wouldn't need to talk about Gay Marriage, or 9/11...they's say HILLARY and pugs would turn out doing the goosestep to vote against her.

It's sad, it's wrong...but it is so.

8. doesn't add anything to the ticket
since she is from the northeast. The idea of the VP was invented as a way to bring geographical balance to a ticket. Although I would be excited if Eliot Spitzer was chosen as a running mate.

7. Another year
I'm a woman, and I'm living for the day we have a woman president. But this year is too important to insert other issues besides getting Bush out. I love Hillary, but there's too much baggage associated with the name Clinton. I think we need a strong male candidate from either the south or the middle of the country.
