Support pouring in - 2 Million dollar days in a row for Kerry!!!
From the e-mail I just received:

Yesterday was another million-dollar day, and the amazing thing is, no one had to attend a $1,000 a plate dinner or listen to George W. Bush rewrite history to bring us well over $3 million in online receipts since Super Tuesday. You did it all -- and we're so grateful.

Now, let's make it 3 for 3!

https://contribute.johnkerry.com

Help us keep the momentum going right now while we've got George W. Bush playing defense. Please help us raise another $1 million by midnight tonight. According to the AP, we've broken Internet fundraising records -- and we're going to keep it up.

This is a special moment for Democrats everywhere -- we've sent a strong statement to the Republican Party in the past few days. They know we mean business -- a three-peat today only drives that message home. Your donation of $25, $50, or $100 can get us there.

1. This is terrific news. The Deaniacs led the way in breaking the grip of
special interest money in Washington with their online contributions, small and large.

We must band together if we are to beat Bush, and when John Kerry is elected President of the United States, we must remain active and committed to breaking the hold of the special interests so that America can work for all Americans, and we can once again feel hope for the future.

15. Here's one Dean supporter who donated to Kerry two days ago!
I will keep doing so until November. I said ABB and I have started putting my money where my mouth is! Thanks for some kind words about us! I will still support Gov. Dean and his new plans. Let's all work our butts and wallets out removing this whole group of pests from politics. Not just for the next four years, but forever! Remember to also give our Democratic President a Congress he can work with! Put off buying everything, and put it into this race! We can party later!

Edited on Fri Mar-05-04 12:21 PM by Feanorcurufinwe
I've donated as little as $5 at a time, when I was short on cash.

7. My only hesitation is whether large $ for Dems will
stimulate all the Republicans to donate even more. It might be better to sneak up on them a little later once they've gotten compacent. :-)

On the other hand, if Kerry were to select Edwards as VP, all that hesitation would go out the window and I'd whip out the credit card now.

This is one of the boons of McCain-Feingold. It's compelling Democrats to reconnect to their lunchbucket constituents for support.

9. Well, I abhor our highest bidder system
but it's an emergency, so I am glad Kerry is soaking up funds at this point.

Gotta get a Dem in the WH, then we can talk about major capaign finance reform. We have to make it so no prez can ever again do what $hrub has pulled off, with his constant stumping and fundraising on the taxpayers backs.

10. Winnowing your way thru the woods, you may stumble,
would you lay there, thinking to you self this is the end, or realize if it were not for the journey, what could this thing, life, be all about anyway.

Choices are the things life is made of, and if the time is not now, then when?

Hi all. I have just discovered this web site to try to get a sense of who John Kerry is. All I have seen and heard is negative things about George Bush. This doesn't help much. When Kerry wins the nomination, all the Bush haters will really get into full swing. I thought that this early in the game there would be some actual discussion about actual bills and positions that John Kerry stands for and reasons to like the man.

I wonder... have any of the posters have really explored the Man's past and have based a decision on what he has done for his constituents and has been the type of man and leader that they will be proud to support to run the world.

No more reading about mean republicans and Evil GWB. I would like to read about John Kerry giving millions to poor people. Voting against the DMA that Clinton supported and taking stands in Congress. I need to read a few specific plans about how he is going to save America.

Sorry I am not just along for the ride. I want some meat and potatoes.

lsail123,

You might want to check this page for lengthy and specific information about what John Kerry has done and what he will do as president:
http://www.johnkerry.com/issues/

Here's a page of biographical info:
http://johnkerry.com/about/

There is plenty of information on the website, as well as here on the forum. You will find that most of us on this forum have done plenty of homework and know all about John Kerry's background and positions on the issues. We are more than happy to discuss specific issues. That is why we have this forum broken into issues like "Restoring Jobs," "Affordable Health Care," "Women's Issues," etc.

Take a look around!

And welcome!
(snip)

I Just made an obligatory contribution, but to me it's not about the money. Pick up your free bumper sticker from the site and stick it on whatever, not that you would or wouldn't, but just a suggestion, in case you were looking for something to do :-)

30. Well said, GPV, and you're right, our house is on fire!
If we have to douse it with "Cash-and-Kerry," for the moment, so be it.

First things first, then *real* change will come sooner than later.

14. Just contributed $50/mo for the duration
Note: I signed up to do what I can to defeat Bush in November. This may shock you, but the last time I volunteered for a Presidential campaign was in 1972. I was a high-school Young Republican. I met Nixon's son in law Chris Cox and I have the pics to prove it! I was young and impressionable, my dad, who I adore is a Repub to this day, and I thought he knew everything! Plus, the Repubs had tons of money and gave great parties and the guys were cute! Well, Nixon broke my heart. I switched party affiliations in 1988 when I realized that I had nothing in common w/ the dark side. This year will be the first time since then I will work as hard as possible to defeat Bush!

19. B-1 Bob Dornan was my congressman
I lived at the time in Orange county, Ca which is Ca Repub heaven. I got the most disgusting partisan mail primarily anti-abortion and despite the fact I hate abortion I'm pro-choice, read the flyers, watched B-1 on C-SPAN and said, what the heck! I feel scummy being part of this party, so I switched. I think I was always a Dem in every way, but was influenced by dad and husband. Finally decided to make my own political choices!

I adore my father, but he is as Republican as they come...I registered as a Republican because of him...I was never one at heart...

though surprisingly enough, even he is frustrated at the lack of a plan in Iraq...

18. Diane, I know what you mean. I hated politics until the 2000 election
I am ashamed to admit it, but I was one of the apathetic citizens when it came to politics. But after the 2000 fiasco, it woke me up and catapulted me to the left side. I see bush as a danger to everything on planet earth. I have never donated to any political causes in my life until Dean spoke up. I sent him $80 last year.

I'm just waiting until my next paycheck to send in a donation to Kerry. I am going to volunteer in the fall. I know AZ is a swing state so it's important to get as many people involved as possible. No regrets. I want to do everything I can to kick bush out.

I have donated to Howard Dean several times in the past and I just donated $25.00 to Kerry for President a few minutes ago. I urge other former Dean,Clark and Edwards supporters to also donate to Kerry for President to rid this country of Bush and the Right-Wing elements in power forever. :grr: :grr: :grr:

29. We just gave and it's not easy right now
The Bush economy has not been kind and we've already given up a lot of the extras just to pay the bills...however...this is an emergency! I wish it could be more, but for now it'll be $25 every once in a while. If everyone who wants Bush defeated would give what they can, we'd be fine for money.

32. Thanks, union maid, for making the stretch...
It is tough, I know (boy, do I know) to stretch the $$$ these days. I gave $25 yesterday, and I am *thin* this month already!.

But for every little bit that we can kick in, it inches us just a bit closer to getting rid of *. Imagine that as a reality.

Thanks again -- :toast:

33. Getting Excited about Kerry
I really think he will be a very good President. I mean I don't agree 100% in everything he stands for. Just like their were some things about Howard Dean I didn't care for even though I prefered him over Kerry. I now plan on supporting John Kerry for President for good or bad nobody's perfect. I urge others to suck it up and back Kerry and get Bush the hell out of our White House the PEOPLES White House.Thank you :dem: :bounce: :bounce:
