So you tell me...Du'ers....
The Primary here in Florida moves to Front and Center ...Media and Discussion. Deanies and Clarkies that have made grass-roots movements towards winning Florida are making efforts. Yet here in the Panhandle the local coordinator resigns...

I get fired by him via Email without a phone call......

PLEASE NOTE THE NATIONAL KERRY CAMPAIGN HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT HELPFUL...

Anyway KISS my ASS...........

I will have a new domain up tomorrow with the same website, and work everything within my county and beyond......

The largest UNION within three counties will be behind me as well as the local Democratic Party.

WHY, are we having this cluster **** only after the Kerry Campaign comes to town???

Chris
Please don't take this as an insult but these ladies do it for a living. I'm sure it will be easier for all.
Thanks for all your help John

No insult taken, however please revert back to your old site...the current design we will use on our own domain. Which will represent my own county and whatever other coordinators need the domain services. You may link to it at will. Please let me know as soon as you have your new design ready. That's the beauty of a grass-roots movement, you really can't fire or relieve anyone of duty.

Thanks anyway....

Chris.....

"I just called your home number at John's request and left you a message. I will begin work on the site this weekend and let you know as soon as I post the new site and you can take the old pages for your won use. I'll probably just rename them on the server for now once my new pages are ready. So "index" will be renamed to "old-index" and so on when we're ready to go live. This should be ready sometime next week.

O.K. this, when you post your website represent everyone on it but Santa Rosa County O.K. I'll send you the link to the
new domain for us once it's registered. Also I went to the trouble to have you registered within the TOP DOWN registry
of the Kerry National site. We'll run our own website from our own domain, grass-roots oriented...with no more depenensies. Thanks for working with us....And tell John a phone-call is much better than an email. We real Democrats don't take well to reading TOP DOWN memos.

That's It....Bottom Line....

I Don't Think Grass-Roots Efforts are Popular....

1. You posted this earlier today
and it was as confusing then as it is now.

It's not really clear what you're talking about. Evidently somebody not affiliated with the national campaign pissed you off. But you're not making clear exactly what happened. If you were doing unsolicited work for the campaign, and they turned it down, I don't quite see the problem.

4. someone else said
it seemed there was some differences on how to do something (website design maybe)between some independent grassroots organizations and they did not accept this poster's proposal, so he is upset. i could be wrong but this post certainly doesn't help in understanding what happened all that much.

8. LOL
Can you tell the story in a simple narrative? It still is entirely unclear what happened and what you're upset about.

For example:

First I did this.
Then XXX did this.
Then I did this.
Then he did this.
And that's why I'm upset.

9. One good thing about grassroots is you can't be fired.
You can be like a weed, and keep popping up. If the local coordinator (of the Clark campaign, I take it?) resigns, so what? The campaign is over. You have a website and a list of participants. Carry on.

Let a thousand flowers bloom, etc., etc.

It would help if you were clearer and more linear in what you are upset about, but if you think you need "approval" from some higher authority, then let me disabuse you. The important thing is to keep in touch with the folks you worked with and see what opportunities remain to have an effect on the political process.

And I was surprised to learn that the Kerry Campaign was looking to incorporate the Clark grassroots organization in the already established Kerry operation. That seems a little odd to me, and I have my doubts about how actually legitimate that "interest" really is. We'll see.
