2. Bullcrap! The Jets and the Sharks were rumbling at the Minneapolis rally today!
No, wait a minute. That wasn't at the rally. That was at the revival of "West Side Story" that was in production at the theater down the block.

Sorry, my bad.

14. Hope is all well in good, but at the end of the day, what does hope
give you.. What tangible benefits does it give anyone... Hope to Change. Is Hope going to rebuild New Orleans, is Hope going to give the middleclass anything, is Hope going pay for college, housing, and crumbling infrastructure?

I hate Propaganda.. and some of those old sci-fi movies keep repeating through my head.. and "1984" is ringing in my ears.

a God or King.... They work for us, not the other way around...

20. 20,000 people showing up to see a democratic leader is a bit much? WTF?
I thought that this would be a day we'd all be waiting for.

I suppose if it was Clinton that they were showing up to see, then it would be just fine?

Just be happy & thankful that they're not lining up to see McCain or Romney

them and us of the Clinton/Bush years.

6. Far out!
How about he takes 1/4 to 1/2 of those people and all of his young supporters and march straight up Pennsylvania Avenue and PROTEST this illegal and immoral war. Don't you think that would be great? Wonder why it hasn't happened yet considering he is our anti-war candidate. I suppose cutting off funding would be a good start...

10. Speaking of...
I was talking with my DH the other night, wondering if he got the nomination - if he wouldn't march on washington. I told him that if he did, we'd have to go.

27. No, but I've resigned myself to the fact that will never happen
I've given up on waiting for the Dems in congress to grow a collective spine and take the fight to Bush.

28. How are spineless senators, unwilling to "taking the fight to Bush" presidential material?
Maybe 'resigning ourselves' isn't the way to go.

Fooj asked a damned good question upthread. Maybe we should expect a hell of a lot more out of our "Democratic" candidates.

If the dems in congress are spineless, we should REPLACE THEM, not put them in the White House.

Just because the American citizenry is so lazy that they just nod in agreement with whatever the media tells them, does not mean anything, other than there are lots of lazy Americans.
