Where's Bill?
How much of a role will William Jefferson Clinton play in getting support for Kerry? Wil Kerry embrace him as an ally or distance himself from him like Gore did?

My vote: embrace him and use him for all he's worth. His baggage only matters to hard-core Republicans; the rest of this country would still vote for him if he could run. Evoke images of the 8-year run of economic good times that we can return to with Democrats in the top seat.

3. I want to hear Bill tell
about how when he was turning over the oval office to w he warned him that Osama was the biggest threat our nation was facing and w refused to listen. W said, no he didn't agree, that Saddam was. I think that one little tidbit, that Bill warned him about Osama and he blew off the warning is enough to sink him.

27. Terry McA announced months ago he was leaving
If Kerry wants to bring in his own guy, that's the way the cookie crumbles. He'll be the leader of the Party. I'm sure Clinton's not surprised or dismayed by any of it.

4. AWOL
Clinton will be seen at the convention and that's about it. Expect him to make a speech, and he'll mainly talk about himself.

Kerry boot McAuliffe? No way. Clinton won't stand for it. Bill still runs the party, no doubts about that. TA is his guy. And when he leaves, Clinton will install another one of his people.

I betting Clinton will monkey-wrench Kerry's run. Hillary wants to be prez and she isn't going to wait until 2012 to make a run. Clinton's are for what is best for them, Democratic party in 2004 be damned.

Bank on it.

9. I agree....this "Clinton owns the DNC and is going to wreck it to
save it for Hillary in 2012" is something one expects to hear at the FR....not here.

Bank that, too.

Hard to believe we have people here spewing right wing rumor mongering as fact. It is really pathetic to be honest.

13. Obviously you've never heard Clinton speak
since he left office? He is one of the most amazing, uplifting speakers I have ever seen, with a message of hope and peace. What is wrong with that?

15. Bill Clinton is going to help Kerry get elected...
or stay out of the way. If Kerry wants McAuliffe gone, he is gone. The rest of the party would mob the Clintons should they 'monkeywrench' this election...too many people watching and it is too important! That's why Hillary has such a long face! Kerry is in, they are out.

8. He's been waiting for the nominee to emerge. Bad form for the
ex-President to take sides in a primary election. Carter didn't either. I fully expect to see Bill out campaigning for Kerry.

Take it to the bank.

16. I fully expect President Clinton to raise some serious money.
No one in Democratic Party history does million dollar dinners like Mr. Clinton. Gore made a serious error in not using him to stump. People still love the Big Dog.

24. President Clinton enjoys the spotlight too much.
He is a campaigner of the highest order; a political junkie who wouldn't know what do do with himself if he didn't have an audience to speak in front of.

My guess is that his ego will get the better of him, and that he would jump at the chance to hit the campaign trail for Sen. Kerry.

20. President Clinton will do whatever it takes to help Kerrry beat
Resident Bush. The Democrat Party is energized. All we need to do now, is for ALL of us to be united behind our nominee. Clinton will be out there helping to unite us and speaking out against Bush and for Kerry. He would have done the same for Al Gore, but I think he and Gore thought it would only hurt Gore at the time of the last election. The time is right now for him to come out swinging.

Gore blew it when he ignored him...so time to ignore Gore.
Hey, that sounds good...Ignore Gore!

23. Interesting
Time to ignore Gore. Think he'll raise money?

<snarf>

Flip someone off and wonder aloud if they'll help you. Do you see anything wrong with this picture? Are you new to politics? Did you go to the GWB school of diplomacy?

Ugh!

Gore rocks. Kerry will be fortunate to have Gore's help.

22. Bill Has Already Put His Name on DNC Letter
I have received one e-mail with Bill's picture on it and a letter from him encouraging support to the DNC, but not Kerry specifically. This was before Super Tuesday though.

No doubt in my mind. And there is no greater campaigner, not to mention speaker, not to mention moolah-raiser, than the Dawg. They won't know what hit them. heh heh heh
