Hillary Clinton Education By Citizens United Not Timid
Posted on January 27, 2008 by wasteofmyoxygen

Roger Stone, GOP Strategist, has pissed off the liberals with his latest 527 organization… The CUNT is simply using a t-shirt with their groups name as a campaign against Hillary… Well I guess Hillary’s supporters are reading into what it means… Or then again maybe they are seeing the truth…

“Legendary” GOP Strategist Launches Hillary Namecalling Effort
By Paul Kiel - January 23, 2008, 3:51PM
A couple of days ago, a group called Citizens United Not Timid filed papers with the IRS as a “527″ organization. Then we saw that Roger Stone had signed on as the group’s “assistant treasurer.” Uh oh.

~snip~

~snip~

Presumably Stone learned this gimmick from working on Nixon’s 1972 Committee to Re-Elect the President (CREEP).

Yes, that’s it. That’s the stroke of genius from the man whom Tucker Carlson insists on calling “legendary Republican strategist Roger Stone” every time he appears on his show (twice this month). The Standard explains that Stone is “trying to tap into deep-seated sentiments about Clinton that pundits and rival candidates can’t articulate.”

~snip~

Labash writes that Stone wants Democrats to know that “if Hillary is the nominee, a hard 527 rain is going to fall.” And already the anti-Hillary groups are getting themselves crossed up. No sooner had Stone filed his organization’s papers than Citizens United, a group headed by David Bossie that’s been attacking the Clintons for nearly twenty years and recently released Hillary: The Movie, sent a cease and desist letter to Stone, alleging infringement.

From The Weekly Standard:
Making Political Trouble
Roger Stone shows how it's done--again.
by Matt Labash
01/28/2008, Volume 013, Issue 19

~snip~

The text underneath it reads "Citizens United Not Timid, a 527 Organization To Educate The American Public About What Hillary Clinton Really Is." The artwork and text are, it turns out, the entirety of the "education." Stone says the website will feature an attractive model in the organization's T-shirt, which can be yours for a "donation" of $25 or more. And it will also feature a rolling tally of people who agree with the statement that's not quite stated, something like "the population billboard in Times Square that's constantly increasing because some baby is born in Botswana."

In addition to this website being blast-emailed to hundreds of thousands of addresses that Stone and West have accumulated over the years (working off over 170 different email lists of everyone from opinion-makers to political activists to industry associations), Stone is counting on T-shirt sales to further serve as "billboard education." He figures the whole thing will end up taking on a viral nature, thanks to the yuks factor.

"The more people go to the site, the more people buy the T-shirts," Stone explains to the troops. "The more people buy the T-shirts, the more people wear the T-shirts. The more people wear the T-shirts, the more people are educated. Consequently, our mission has been achieved." Though neither the word itself nor even the acronym is ever mentioned, "it's one-word education. That's our mission. No issues. No policy groups. No position papers. This is a simple committee with an unfortunate acronym. Addendums, deletions? Everybody's down?"

I ask Stone if he's a little worried about people confusing his "organization" with Citizens United, the Floyd-Brown founded anti-Clinton group. "We have no connection. Those guys are irresponsible," he says with a smile. ~snip~

It's repulsive, MADem
I felt dirty just posting it, and almost didn't because at first I thought it was some sick joke; and second, I thought others might kill the messenger -- but, we need to be aware of what is going on, IMHO. I came across this scum when I was researching some things for this thread.

I see some dirty tricks are in store for the GE.

14. He is. It's ugly, and we can expect more
Here's more from the second link:

~snip~

Simultaneously, he wants to remind Democrats, currently chin-tugging over niceties like electability and who makes the better change-agent, that if Hillary is the nominee, a hard 527 rain is going to fall. There is only one candidate in this election who can universally mobilize conservatives, and as evident from the variety of primary victors, none of them is a Republican. It's Hillary Clinton. If you thought the late '90s were ugly, just wait.

Is his Citizens United Not Timid campaign tasteless, outrageous, and completely over the line? Absolutely, he admits, and he's counting on people thinking so. "If you're not controversial, you'll never break through the din of all the commentary," he says. If people don't like his anti-Hillary 527, they can start their own. In fact, West says people already have: "Right now, there are guys like us preparing to do the same thing all over the country."

I'm not even supporting Hillary in the primaries, but this is one of the most repulsive things I've seen yet. It's a repulsive stew of swiftboating tactics and grotesque sexism; nasty even by Republican standards.

And, by the way, unlike some others on this thread, as a disappointed Edwards supporter I am absolutely certain Obama's campaign didn't have a damn thing to do with it, and it's outrageous to suggest they did. This is purely Republican.

You're pulling this out of your ass, and for no reason that I can imagine. Whether or not Obama denounces this proves nothing at all. Furthermore, there's all kind of nasty Republican crap going around; some of it is better ignored than even mentioned. And in any event, you still haven't offered anything even hinting at actual evidence that Obama's campaign has anything to do with Stone.

I'd also add that John Edwards ran a consistently honorable campaign, and he never trashed either of the other candidates. It's disheartening to see another supporter of this decent, fair-minded man flinging crap like this. John would be disgusted, and so am I.

Come to think of it, how will you feel if Edwards endorses Obama, as most of the pundits believe he will do?

One of the things that always amuses me is how the Republicans are the party of morality and family values, yet the party is loaded with folks like this.

I seriously doubt anyone in Obama's campaign had a damn thing to do with this, but he'd love to make some of us think he did, just so he can stir some stuff up on our side.

I know a lot of people who will think this is absolutely hilarious, but I think there are a lot of Republicans who see crap like this and know it's part of what is giving their partu an increasingly bad name.

I agree -- it is such an odd juxtaposition -- say one thing, do another.
