Obama speaks in empty platitudes.
Edited on Thu Jan-31-08 09:02 PM by MyPetRock
This debate proves to me once and for all that there is ZERO substance behind the flowery rhetoric. Tonight's debate truly is an AHA! instant in which the emperor's nakedness is completely revealed.

4. You're watching the wrong debate.
For example, the one I'm watching has seen Obama explain his healthcare plan with specifics.

7. The fact that he had to take Hillary's talking points on immigration reform...
...proves that his earlier comments were basically empty.

9. sometimes yes, but other times very astute
he surprises me sometimes with depth of knowledge, but often i am underwhelmed with some answers. he is obviously smart, but does have some experience disadvantages. better than both romney and mccain, but Hillary is spectacularly wonky (borderline too much maybe)

14. Like you, as a Hillary supporter, were looking for proof.
You can't have an AHA moment when you didn't believe otherwise in the first place.

Would mean more coming from, say, an Edwards supporter.

18. Platitude:
1. a flat, dull, or trite remark, esp. one uttered as if it were fresh or profound.
2. the quality or state of being flat, dull, or trite: the platitude of most political oratory.

20. Empty platitudes is spot-on
It is so very difficult watching Democrats fall for such a complete poser as Obama. Just horrific.

He's the 'candidate of change' because he says he is.
He 'brings people together' even though all I've ever seen is nasty, race-baiting divisiveness, because he says he is.

All the words, with not an iota of example in the real world.

I have seen this all my life with Publicans - they say the self-adoring, self-righteous, self-cannonizing words, when the truth is about as close to the exact opposite of their words as it's possible to be.

But not Democrats, until now.
