Is anybody else just enjoying this entire process?
Edited on Thu Jan-31-08 03:06 PM by NJSecularist
It seems like the majority of posts are angsty, or negative in nature.

Am I the only one enjoying this primary process?

It only happens once every 4 years. Enjoy it. Soak it in.

I sure am.

Actually, I am, enormously.
I get a little pissed off at the 'piling on' at times, but overall, I think it is grand.

The GOP contest is a total hoot...I love watching Romney spend money hand over fist to poor effect!

2. It's amusing I must say
sort of like Britney Spears on steriods. You just have to look to spite yourself.

but I'm always happy when the board returns to sanity.

3. No.Because this isn't a game. This is literally about life and death and the future of our nation.
This has been the most disgusting primary I have witnessed in my lifetime and one would have to be a masochist to enjoy the destruction of the lives and reputations of good people that this entails. Our Party has also been put into jeopardy and I do not enjoy this or find it "fun".

4. Our party has been put into jeopardy?
Give me a break. Just because Edwards withdrew doesn't mean our party is in "jeopardy".

The only thing we are in jeopardy of is winning the presidency in November.

13. That is not the only reason. Crossover vote is swtiching to McCain and swiftly.
Both Hillary and Obama will have major problems in the GE. And if Obama is the nominee, it will even be more difficult. In addition people are beginning to leave the party and switch to Indie. These are facts. We had it all earlier in the year and have made it difficult for ourselves.Believe what you wish. The presidency should have been a"lock" .It no longer is.

5. I love it too
I come from an entire family of political junkies. When we were fighting about everything else, we could always talk about politics. It was easy because for the most part, we were on the same side and just coming up with arguments against the lastest republican outrage. My parents would love to see a brokered convention on both sides of the aisle. Frankly, I don't think my blood pressure could take that. It's going to have a work out on Sunday during the Super Bowl.

i see nothing amusing at all.

we're in a morally indefensible war, the planet is overheating, our economy is a house of cards based on fraudulent securities, fugly sprawl, cheap energy, irresponsible deficit spending, & willful self-delusion, the rich are buying every scrap of beauty left in the country, and the streets of my city are being overrun with agressive, mentally ill homeless.

i have no faith that any of the remaining candidates will do anything but try to put a band-aid on a sucking chest wound.

7. There's a new UFO series on the history channel
Edited on Thu Jan-31-08 04:10 PM by fadedrose
I am not having fun. I am thoroughly depressed, frustrated and angry with the whole primary system.

My goofy state of Michigan is totally impotent (as it should be because of the maniacs who run the state); I lost Sen. Biden early on, and now I lose John Edwards -- and all this after 8 years of George put food on your family Bush.

I watched the UFO thingy and may stay with UFO's till 4 years from now. This one's gone down the toilet.

9. Well, this forum does get bogged down too much in bickering
But I'm not talking specifically about this forum. I am talking about the general process of electing a nominee.

The MSM interference is bothering me - some flaws in the primary as well, but I think I an coming here every day, because over all, I enjoy it.

17. Yes - very much. The spirited banter - that's called the primaries!
Last time I checked, that was part of our Democracy.

Things will get real fun when we can FINALLY unite behind one Dem against one puke.

I sure as hell hope it's Barack - but if not, Hillary has my vote too. :hi:

19. I think it's fun
and I am enjoying it.

I do think that some people are going overboard on certain matters and I wish there wasn't all this bullshit. I just want to pick a nominee, call a truce and kick some repuke ass.

Obama and Clinton are not my first choice but I will vote for them in the GE. It's time to get serious. It's time to win but we are killing ourselves during this process.

It's not about Obama or Clinton or their supporters. It's about us. All of us. And getting our country back. If this bullshit continues, we will hand the WH to the repukes again.

21. Me, me, me - I am and will take it a step further
I'm hoping (unless Obama miraculously wraps it up early - ha ha) for the drama of a deadlocked convention going into the first ballot.

That would be something to experience - last one was 1952 - it took three ballots for Stevenson to get the nod over Kefauver
