So... Obama is the Messiah, then?
I don't know what else to make of all this except that not only is Obama apparently the best Democrat who ran this year, he is the purest, most inspirational American that has existed since the widespread use of color TV.

He'll unite the country.

He's bustin' all kinds of fund-raising records.

Endorsements rolling in by the truckload.

While the evil opponent is slinging mud, he's running a squeaky-clean campaign.

He's the second comings of JFK, RFK, and MLK all rolled into one.

He wasn't on the board of any evil corporations.

He's going to change the way things are done in Washington.

He's black, but even some white Democrats vote for him. Imagine that!

He's not dirtied up by all that yucky Washington experience.

The dudes at Fox News dig him.

Si se puede!

He was the most liberal Senator last year.

He's young. The kids dig him.

He looks forward, not back to those bad old '90's, with all that prosperity and whatnot.

Republicans will, presumably, bend from the force of his charisma as he reaches across the aisle.

That's a lot to live up to. I hope he doesn't disappoint.

2. It's called a "Cult of Personality"
It scares me.

Not Obama himself. I rather like him. It's his "followers" and their emotional, rather than rational, appraisal of Obama.

Obviously, not all of them; not everyone is part of that cultish movement, but it's there, and it does BHO no honor.

11. Hey, that was a great song.
Funny, I seem to remember Living Colour getting a hard time from some people too. A "black" rock band? Wow what a concept?? (Never mind Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jimi Hendrix, and all those bluesmen that the Stones and Zeppelin ripped off)

Maybe once Obama is President, y'all can get over that one too?

21. Get over what? Living Colour?
Sorry, dude, but I like the band just fine.

The phrase goes back to the 1940s, I think. It is hero worship applied to political figures.

23. It was in China and the USSR.
Such claims came when an entrenched bureaucracy thinks about charisma, even charisma that led to their power. They don't want anyone else to come along with charisma -- it could threaten their power.

What's the application here?

Hmm, a candidate with ties to the old politics and beholden to corporations is threatened by a candidate with charisma? Could that be it?

6. I hear ya, tgnyc. I'm actually an Obama supporter but a neutral poster of articles --
and in these last days before Super Tuesday, they are all about Obama. And they are glowing. And I suspect this kind of press may serve him well on Tuesday.

Obama saw the spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on him, and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, "This is my beloved nominee, in whom I am well pleased." (Matthew 3:13)

Obama fed 15,000 screaming fans from a single bag of cheeto's.

Obama cured a ham.

Judas Rezko betrayed him for 30 pieces of silver and a plot of land.

Well you know how the rest of the story ends...
