Edited on Thu Jan-31-08 11:33 AM by wndycty
Folks let's put our bickering aside to celebrate that history has already been made. We will be victorious this year, we will. I hope its Obama, but despite everything I could still support Hillary. We should ALL be excited. . .and no matter what anyone says these are two really good candidates!

7. It's the platform, not the sex or skin color that matters.
The unfortunate thing is the person who would have helped the poor the most was the white man.

Go figure.

11. It is the platform but the fact that we has a party and hopefully as a nation. . .
. . .have faith that an African American or woman can lead this country is a great thing. And Edwards would have been a fine leader as well, but this is Barack or Hillary's year. I'm very hopeful that we will see Attorney General John Edwards.

34. "Isn't that just fabulous?" Not really. And everyone regardless of which candidate they support
should be OUTRAGED at what the media set out too do and succeed in doing to Edwards and Kucinich. They keep getting away with smearing our Democratic Candidates and we keep letting them. We don't pick and chose, they do. :argh:

But hey, never mind about that, this is an "historical" election every one. :woohoo:

And if our "nominee" can't beat the repug or it's close enough too steal AGAIN!, this "historical" election won't have meant a thing.

8. yeah
it's pretty cool I'm very happy to see it went down in my lifetime. What's best is I believe both Clinton and Obama are such good candidates that we can expect to see many more female and african american candidates or better yet many more female and african american Presidents in the very near future. The times have finally changed.

10. YEES, that's wonderful, but one of them BETTER WIN!
Personally, I don't care which one! I'm sooo afraid that a Pub will get into the WH again! To me, the MOST IMPORTANT thing is the SCOTUS!!! The long term effects of a packed SCOTUS are staggering!

This grandpa is happy to have lived to see it -- and to have Democrats leading the way is an extra blessing.

And if Obama is the nominee, I will support him. No question about it.

I don't want to elect some old white male this year. I want to be a part of history.

This is a great post and I recommended it.

28. I would think that after more than 200 years of white males elected President....
we'd be excited for a change.

BTW: John McCain, if elected, would be 4 years older than Ronald Reagan was when he was elected in 1980. I stand by my "old man" comment.

27. I completely disagree.
McCain has latched on to Bush's record. If he wants to hitch his wagon to a man with a 30% approval rating, that's his choice. I firmly believe the American people will reject that.

I don't see how anyone could downplay it. With the history we have had in the US, it is definitely noteworthy.
